Anyone remember Cesaro’s knockoff Chelsea Dagger music? And his song after that bore resemblance to Dean Malenko’s theme.
The start of Kenzo Suzuki’s music always reminds me of Pretty Green Eyes.

Hulk Hogan’s pre-Real American theme is pretty much Bonnie Tyler’s Ravishing.

Kevin Nash used a theme in TNA which was basically a rip off of Puff Daddy Ft. Jimmy Page’s “Come With Me” instrumental on a loop.

Requires you to listen with a careful ear, but I always thought the ABA Undertaker theme was a pretty blatant ripoff of Limp Bizkit.

I guess this can go here. I was jamming to some TAD when their 1991 song Stumblin' Man came on. Around the 0:36 mark, reminds me of the D-Generation X theme song. I wonder if Jim was a big Sub Pop guy? I can hear it. I’ve never been convinced that they weren’t going for a straight RATM rip. Take the Power Back is almost as close to the source as I can remember of their tracks. The intro (a little longer) and all. Wow that's crazy. It sounds just like it.

The FBI’s WWE theme is very much like No Sleep Til Brooklyn by the Beastie Boys.

Does anyone have any information on Crash Holly's theme song being used literally EVERYWHERE outside of WWE, even still to this day? I remember hearing it on many commercials on different channels.

If you listen to the opening of Eurythmics "Would I lie to you" you could hear some samples of where JJ got part of the Hardy Boys theme from.

You know that was his theme in ECW. I think this was an intentional cover.

As much as I like Tommy, this was the best thing about him. He straight up used it in ECW.

A lot of earlier WWE themes, even with Jim Johnston in house, were stock music tracks that basically exist for generic use like commercials, special report news programming, and just about anything else you'd need a quick track with a hook for on the cheap. Somewhere (I can't remember where), Goldberg talks about how he found his WCW theme by going through the stock library (possibly with Sting?) and picking something out that he felt worked. Tons of guys had tracks like this...the Hardy Boyz, Marc Mero, Crash Holly, etc. are all themes I've heard outside of a wrestling context.

Doesn't sound exactly alike, but the influence is obvious.

The nWo theme is based off a few different Hendrix riffs. The nWo theme is an actual song that they licensed. Maybe they original artist did use Hendrix as a base, but its a real song that they used.

Yep. To expand upon my post above about stock music...some artists write and record stock music specifically for that purpose. Others will pitch music they've written for their own means into production libraries in the hopes that it'll get their work and their name out. If I'm not mistaken, that's what Mark Crozer did, which worked out really well for him when his track got licensed for Bray Wyatt.

Chase The Ace - AC/DC
Heartbreaker - Pat Benatar
I’ve always thought these 2 songs were the inspiration for The Ultimate Warrior’s Theme, especially Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar

Paul London and Brian Kendrick's theme song was a different variation of The Rockers

Hunter Hearst Hemsleys theme sounds like a song off Kingdom Hearts.
