Please excuse me if there is such a thing, but I couldn't find a rumour discussion thread on the pinned threads.
I remember back last year or so, there were "leaked" or rumoured lists of upcoming figures. The type you see from future store inventory.
Being from last year, I think some of those figures rumoured have come to fruition or are about to. I remember British Bulldog was on one list.
But I remember seeing Rob Van Dam's name on a list too. I've not seen any prototypes being shown, so I don't think he's still in contention. But was there any more information on this or was it massive speculation?
I know he has been in Impact Wrestling for the past 2 years or so, and that may be the reason he was scrapped (if he was planned), but Bill M said last year or the yea before that he was still under a Legends deal and was fair game for a figure. He mentioned the only attire he'd consider was his 2001 ECW/WWF Invasion/2002 KOTR tiger stripe attire.
I was really hoping this would have been it, but guess we'll have to wait and see.

I mean, I would love that attire in figure form, but he had so many great looks. There was a really colorful singlet he wore during a ladder match with Eddie Guerrero on Raw in 2002 that would look awesome.

His contract with Impact just ended like a month ago. It will be some time before we see anymore RVD figures in the line.

It was actually almost three years back when Flashback Elite Series 2 and 3 had yet to be confirmed. I want to say by mid-January 2018 we knew of the placeholder names, but that was all. Just a bunch of random names that would come up on Brickseek.
The Flashback Elites amounted to this:
FNV77 - Flashback Elite Assortment (UPC: 887961602432)
Series 1
FNV78 - Ultimate Warrior (UPC: 887961602401) FNV79 - Mean Gene Okerlund (UPC: 887961602449) FNV80 - Syxx (UPC: 887961602418) FNV81 - Yokozuna (UPC: 887961602371)
Series 3
FNV82 - Jake The Snake Roberts [Was previously Paul Bearer, which ended up in Hall of Champions 3?] (UPC: 887961602388) FNV83 - Stone Cold Steve Austin [Was previously Dude Love, which ended up in Elite 62?] (UPC: 887961602425) FNV84 - Ricky Steamboat [Always came up as Ricky Steamboat] (UPC: 887961602456) FNV85 - King Harley Race [Was previously Dusty Rhodes, which ended up in Elite 63?] (UPC: 887961602395)
Series 2
FTC52 - Shawn Michaels (UPC: 887961640793) FTC53 - Razor Ramon (UPC: 887961640762) FTC54 - Doink The Clown (UPC: 887961640809) FTC55 - Alundra Blayze (UPC: 887961640816)
Others that lined up after Series 2 but were never put to use
FTC56 - Rowdy Roddy Piper (UPC: 887961640830) FTC57 - Vader (UPC: 887961640823) FTC58 - Mabel [King Mabel was eventually released in Elite 68] (UPC: 887961640779) FTC59 - Rob Van Dam (UPC: 887961640786)

Tiger stripe or Shut Your Mouth attire A are the only two attires that should be considered for a new RVD

His contract with Impact just ended like a month ago. It will be some time before we see anymore RVD figures in the line. It's more to do with their Legends deal and that gives Mattel the rights to make that character/wrestler. I'm not sure if signing with another wrestling company instantly nullifies the contract, but obviously Mattel weren't going to make his figure whilst being in Impact. However, I wonder if his Legends deal might still be valid, which could speed the process up for a figure. Just pure BS from my side but speaking optimistically. As long as it comes eventually, I'd be happy. It was actually almost three years back when Flashback Elite Series 2 and 3 had yet to be confirmed. I want to say by mid-January 2018 we knew of the placeholder names, but that was all. Just a bunch of random names that would come up on Brickseek. Wow no way? Can't believe it was that long ago, I could have put money on it being back in mid 2019.

I think RVD may fall in that area of ones that were messed up because Mattel/WWE weren't on the same page on when deals expired. There's nothing since that time to give anyone reason to think he's re-signed, though anything is possible moving forward. Working in Impact wouldn't necessarily preclude a figure. If the WWE merch deal was still valid, another company could sign him as a performer, but wouldn't be able to get licensing/merch rights until the WWE deal expired. See the Legends Jake Roberts figure, even though he works for AEW.

If RVD ever gets under a deal again, this is the one that I want the most.

Here’s to hoping the new Network documentary is a sign that he and the company are willing to work together again. I would take any RVD, though the aforementioned tiger stripe one would be the most likely first choice, since it works as both an ECW flashback and a 2001-2002 WWF/E version.

An RVD flashback excites me more than most moderately possible flashbacks still on the table. Need this to happen

Not heard of that documentary, is it specifically about RVD? It's a new series called WWE Icons where, going by the trailer, each episode looks at someone who had a massive impact in the time they were with the company but kind of "faded" from the WWE consciousness once they left. The first season is episodes on Lex Luger, British Bulldog, Yokozuna, Beth Phoenix, and RVD. Apparently RVD is involved in the episode as per statements he's made the last fee months. In the grand scheme doesn't really mean anything regarding figs or Legends Deal as we've seen multiple times with these kind of appearances in the past, but fingers crossed that this bridge being crossed leads to something.

If RVD ever gets under a deal again, this is the one that I want the most. I went nuts when I saw him debut since he was the only person that I remembered from ECW, since I was only able to catch ECW once on TV.

Still waiting on good version of RVD and Angle Which Angle would you like to see? He had some pretty nifty gear in 2000 / 2001.
