Triple H doesn’t need the “send off” match. Hunter is the perfect guy (and has been) to simply make the transition from in-ring performer to behind the scenes talent.
Wrestling in big matches occasionally if he wishes to or it calls for it, sure. But he doesn’t need a “Career Ending” match or anything if the sort.

I think he did his final meaningful loss to Daniel Bryan at that Wrestlemania. There's no more rub to give. He's been too office for too long.

This is the answer - although it should've been eight/nine years ago, following the 'pipebomb'... But we all know why that didn't happen...

I don’t think anyone will retire him. I don’t see him having a big send off. I wouldn’t be shocked if he were done already.

Well don't think he'll every truly call it quits as its pretty stupid as he'll be apart of the WWE for the rest of his life and even at 51 is great shape, clearly done full time and will be more in the vain of Vince McMahon going forward appearing from time to time and have a few matches when it call for it.Could see him wrestling matches for the next ten to fifteen years in the right type of situation.
But if he truly wanted a send off and to never wrestle again the two best choices would be The Rock or Randy Orton.Rock as he's one of his biggest rivals ever and the biggest star in pro wrestling history. Both men came up the ranks at the sametime and their feud in '98 help to put both into the main event spotlight. While with Orton you have the whole Evolution storyline and their on again off again love hate storyline that has been going for damn near twenty years between the two.
Ideally a younger talent would get the rub in terms of retiring Triple H but really can't think of anyone that should get it over the likes of the Rock or Orton.

I don't feel like he'll get one, at least not for a long time now. I think back in the day, his ideal scenario would have been Triple H vs Shawn Michaels at a Wrestlemania. Times have changed though with the whole 'retirement match' scenario. As we've seen with Undertaker now, there's stock in having them continue on screen to put people over by interacting with them in segments, or even in squash matches in Saudi Arabia etc. Plus, he's so embedded within the Company it's not like he's a normal person retiring and going away into the sunset or on to other ventures.
He'll most likely have a last match at some point, when they need something to put some desperate buys together, more so than it being a long term planned story with some kind of passing the torch moment. He'll probably just have a Match with Randy Orton and be done.

I assumed he was retired. He hasn't had a match in almost 2 years. I recall an interview he did with ESPN promoting WM36 and they asked him why he didn't have a match and when he thought his next match might be and his answer was that it was his hope that he wouldn't have to wrestle again.

It hasn't been that long but has been like a year in a half, thought that his match with Batista would have be okay as a retirement match but he won and then a month or so later wrestled Orton in Saudi.Think the main reason he didn't wrestle this year is more so due to COVID and not having any fans in the building.Again at 51 and the shape he's in I have little doubt that he'll continue to wrestle from time to time. But with all of that said 2020 is going to be the 1st year in his career where he doesn't wrestle and actual match which is really odd kind of like how John Cena didn't wrestle on any PPVs last year and hasn't wrestled a proper match and nearly two years now.

I think Triple H has maybe 3 good wins left in him. And I still enjoyed his matches at his advanced age. And I really enjoyed his work with Batista. I think Drew Mcintyre could one last badass hard hitting affair out of him. Maybe; Braun if you kept it to like 10 minutes but it went all out balls to the walls in 10 minutes. AJ Styles could make one great match from the ring perspective. And could cover any flaw Triple H has had from slowing him in age. Even Kevin Owens. I think even match with Shane McMahon could be very fun.
I think Triple H should work as some evil Authority heel against Mcintyre. He's sick of Mcintyre; and doesn't think Mcintyre is right for the company. And have be the guy that was against Mcintyre in first run; and talk about Mcintyre dropping the ball. And Triple H state he was the more dominant champion; and Mcintyre isn't even close to what Triple H has under his name. Have Triple H haress him and use old authority goons to beat down Mcintyre. Have Mcintyre go after Triple H; and Triple H use police to restrain Mcintyre. But; then see Triple H become calculated breaking into Mcintyre's home assaulting him wife and him. Have him be vicious, beating the champion down brutally. Trying to injure him going into Mania; after the cowardly tactics failed. Have Mcintyre take down the game in badass fight for the title.
Owens maybe as Owens going on as this huge renegade against the WWE. and Taking a stand; and Triple H was threatened by Mr.McMahon to be forcefully retired and his time is up. Have Triple H spiral into this depression and desperation. And loss of what to do; and retirement speech. But Owen's has been kicking up sand with the McMahons. Have McMahon's burn through everything to stop him. They have no other resource or thing to fling. And firing would be to easy; they want to embarrass Owens. So Triple H is giving a chance to restore his career by beating Owens. Have Triple H become sick and calculated but in reality he's doing out of his career. And rebirthing it; only due to some mid life crisis in a sense. Owens is defiant and shows Triple H up with brutality. Trying to expose Triple H is far beyond his golden years; and his retirement of Batista should of been his last go round. Have Owens go over; but Triple H turn face one last time and shake Owens hand and fend off a McMahon attack.
Maybe similar concept of Shane McMahon wanting to oust Triple H from the company. And McMahon seeing HHH as taking his spot in his 6 year absence. Have Shane divide the family and go deep. Mentioning Triple H is Vince's son; and everything he had was given to HHH. HHH only married in for power blah blah blah. Shane is this evil heel; that sees himself as spewing the truth. And revisiting every past trauma the McMahons have went through on screen since 1998. Have Vince try to be peace maker; but turn his back on HHH. And that he thinks HHH has gone to big for his bridges. And always defied Vince in most of his career. And Shane may have; but Shane's his flesh and blood. And came back to him in the end. Stephanie backs her husband up; maybe give Linda a Camo. Have it be Falls Count Anywhere. So Shane can exploit Triple H with Triple H's larger size. Have Triple H win; and also have it top off the storyline of the McMahon family in the WWE as on screen presence.
