Besides the Jake the Snake I thought the line ups looked pretty good. I’m Not arguing or trying to come off as an ass but what appeals to you with them?

The same people losing their minds over repaints are the same people that say when they think someone is going to rot on the shelf like JYD, and yet they are pissed because guys like Repo Man or Hercules Hernandez aren’t being made.
Yeah I’m sure first time in the line midcarders from the 70s and 80s would sell better than DX figures.
How do people still not understand that Mattel can’t just make figures of who they want or sign people to deals?
And my guess with Jake is they know they won’t have the rights to him long so they are getting out as many looks as they can to try and avoid everyone on here losing their minds in the upcoming years “How didn’t we get this attire?!?”

As someone who has only been collecting for a few years the lack of first time in the line has been a blessing and curse. Since the re launch of the Legends series I've been able to get my first figures of the following at retail cost. Valentine, Razor Ramone, WWE Eddie Geurrero, Jake the Snake, Orndorff, Volkoff, Tatanka. Would have been more but I found a few older ones like Vader. Now that the series progresses there will no doubt be less people I don't already have but as long as they are different eras or gimmicks I'm happy. Needing fewer figures will also help my wallet. I'm aware what Mattel has to work with so I just hope for the best.

Honestly to me that’s part of collecting. Having hard to find or rare figures that are desirable. I don’t have every figure I wanted but I either save or just chalk it up as something I won’t. What real fun is collecting if you have stuff everyone else in the hobby has. So you base your collecting on what others collect/have. Fine. I base mine on what I want and what I have. I understand your mentality: people who collect rare art, rare cars, rare ball cards, etc. do it because it makes them feel special to have something few others (or no one else) has. Perhaps it's also safe for you because you know you could punt them off later if you needed a fetch a good price. But I collect for me, not anyone else. For me and many others, I don't care if I'm the only one in the world to have an elite series 1 Undertaker or the billionth person, because it doesn't affect MY happiness so long as I have the figure in MY collection. I collect for me, not anyone else.

honestly i hate "leaks"....they ruin the collecting hobby. people are so goddamn IMPATIENT and expect mattel to be revealing lineups and brand new first time ever figures every week it seems. and if not then people complain and bitch about it. "omg where is the NEW STUFF aaarrgggggghhhhh!!!" im willing to bet no toy line on earth puts out as much product in a year that mattel wwe does. yet people are not satisfied with what we get instead its asking Steve "when are the NEXT reveals? ?" literally the day after we had just gotten a bunch and then we get others on instagram ruining more crap by posting weird stolen pictures and sharing lineup sheets. which leads to more bitching because they aren't releasing what you want or what you think they "should" release. this entire world has created such a selfish, entitled attitude of so many people especially in the world of toy collecting. I know what you mean, this Unstable dude got heat with both Mattel and Jazewares for posting leaks. He is a clown.

Repo Man, Hercules and even Brooklyn Brawler would sell more than the 5th elite of XPAC. I’m so tired of the argument that Mattel can’t do anything....BS! WWE wants Mattel to keep paying them a royalty licenses which is millions every year.....So it’s in WWE’s interest to keep Mattel happy. Mattel can and should push WWE to sign more legends to atleast an action figure deal. Seriously it’s not difficult. Call the Mountie and say “Hey Mattel wants to make an action figure of you...You don’t have to do anything and we will send you a check”. It’s not hard.

Those three would not sell better than a X-PAC that goes with four other DX members. No one is going to buy Triple H, Chyna, Road Dogg and Gunn and say “Nah I don’t need this matching X-PAC. Especially if he’s in his debut red singlet underneath. Also, it is more difficult as that. WWE isn’t going to sign someone to a Legends deal just to sell some figures. Especially if the person isn’t on good terms with the company or is signed to merch deals elsewhere. That’s not on Mattel. Such a weird thing to be this angry about.

Besides the Jake the Snake I thought the line ups looked pretty good. I’m Not arguing or trying to come off as an ass but what appeals to you with them? Question wasn’t addressed to me, but I’ll take a crack assuming these lineups are accurate: One’s I’m personally interested in: -1998 DX Army era DX has been pretty underrepresented in the line. The closest Triple H’s are the most recent elites, and they’re one off late summer and fall 98 respectively. There’s never been a 1998 X-Pac, and both of the previous Billy Gunn’s were closer to his late 98/early 99 look. Chyna is HBK-era DX. The HOC Road Dogg is the only one previously released that really fit the period, and he was near impossible to find while he was at retail. On top of that, the camo-clothes are a great accessory, and give a lot of display options. -The 2002-2006 era of Edge, included his Smackdown face run, initial heel turn, and Rated-R Superstar run has been almost totally neglected in the line. -Assuming the packaged pic is real, 1992 black shirt IC Champion Roddy Piper is, again, a period that has been totally ignored. -Same case with Kevin Nash. Both the 1997 heyday of the NWO and the 2002 return of the NWO have been ignored. One’s I’m not personally interested in, BUT I think are good choices: -Mean Mark: Never made before, and a look people have been desperate for. -Bob Orton: Only had one Mattel, that wasn’t all that well executed, in a retailer exclusive two-pack a decade ago. -Farooq/Bradshaw: If they’re in Acolytes or APA wrestling gear, these looks have been ignored since 1999, let alone the Mattel line. -Hurricane: While recently produced, there are more than enough Hurricane looks to warrant another figure IMO. -Andre: Somewhat, we’ve yet to have an Elite in what WWE treats as his most iconic look (and the one we did get had the terrible cloth singlet). The potential of a suited figure is also interesting. Admittedly, I think it’s too soon for another Jake, and JYD seems like overkill unless they do a Mod South look.

Figures should be made for all collectors to able to easily get the ones they want without having to pay $100+ because they can’t find them retail.

Not Mattel. Steve has explained this many times and every time a thread like this is made people start attacking Mattel for it. Rinse and repeat.

You know, the way so many of you blast re-releases, it's like you forget that not everyone has been collecting Mattel figures since Day One. Not everyone who is in this hobby has been in it hardcore since 2010. There are new collectors every day who, for the record, don't have thousands of dollars to drop on the old elites. And, to those new collectors, having re-release elites like Andre and such is a godsend because it means we can finally afford to add them to our collection. I'm so damn tired of having to point out that not all collectors have ample funds and ample opportunities. Just stop already. Honestly to me that’s part of collecting. Having hard to find or rare figures that are desirable. I don’t have every figure I wanted but I either save or just chalk it up as something I won’t. What real fun is collecting if you have stuff everyone else in the hobby has. I get this logic when discussing exact rereleases of specific attires, but I think it’s kind of ridiculous to think that whole characters or eras of wrestlers who have unmade attires should be “locked” solely for older collectors.

I guess I'm in the minority but if these lineups are for real, I'm psyched. Nash, Piper, Andre, Mean Mark and the DX army are definitely ones I will buy. Most of those I'll probably get 2 of to have one moc and one loose.

I don’t think they should be locked or not made but enough is enough. Some guys only need to have one or two figures and that’s enough. No need to capitalize on the market all the time. I get it once in a while figures are in high demand so mattel remakes a certain guy. But at this point it’s getting kind of ridiculous

I would pumped the brakes on believing any Mr. America rumor. In the MWFP Facebook group Robert Rudman, who works for Mattel, replied to a post about the Mr America rumor saying “ Let me nip this one in the bud and pop all the bubbles. Don't expect an announcement on Mr. America at SDCC.”
