Big Boss Man seems like an odd choice to me. I feel like we have his most iconic looks and there really hasn’t been demand for more from what I’ve seen. It’s better than a repaint of something we’ve seen 27 times already.
And it's been quite some time since Big Boss Man was made as an Elite, right? That Network Spotlight one was five years ago.
I also think there's a very good chance that the variant will be The Boss gear from WCW, since it's extremely close to his Boss Man look. So that would be a new thing. (I also think we have a good chance of seeing him in the MOTU line in the near future. I really thought it was going to be Big Boss Man-at-Arms before Slaughter got modeled on MAA.)

I’m all for a Big Boss Man. Idc who it is really, as long as it fits the era I collect which is anything before 2003ish. I’ve been wanting another Boss Man, Davey Boy, Earthquake etc. but I think a lot of people get mad at them because they want new guys like Repo Man, Slick, Zeus, Skinner etc, but obviously these repaints aren’t taking their spot, they’ll be made once they can make them, so if these repaints aren’t done, us legend collectors aren’t getting anything. But Mattel really needs to give some a break , the ones that have 30 figures already.

I def think this one is gonna be based on the slimmer, trimmer face boss man with the variant being the WCW Boss. The one elite was def supposed to be the bigger heel twin towers boss man.

I wish Mattel's sales were public information. I'd love to see who the mainstream market actually buys compared to niche collectors compared to marks/smarts.
I'm upping this 1,000 % -- I'd kill to see this info. I think it might also placate some of our concerns and gripes as collectors

Elite 91 -RVD (CHASE) -Hulk Hogan -Bianca Bel-Air -Kevin Owens -Sami Zayne -Austin Theory Now that would be a good set IMO! Except for that second name, but whatever 😝

How would they know that? Just based on RS sales vs regular retail sales? I have a hard time believing RS sells more product than Walmart/Target/Amazon/ToysRUs/Smyths/etc. And even then I’m a hardcore collector that buys from both. I also have a hard time believing they know how well a figure actually sells past them distributing them. They’re not usually single packed, they’re case assorted and Target or Walmart doesn’t care if it’s a this person or that person, it’s a wwe toy to them. Also they’re a huge company and it’s probably against their terms to discuss that stuff in specifics with general public.

Also they’re a huge company and it’s probably against their terms to discuss that stuff in specifics with general public. While they might have the same DCPI at Target or SKU at Walmart, I believe each figure has it's own bar code so as long as the figure is scanned, they should be able to tell how fast and how many figures sell of a particular figure (provided the retailer provides that info). Data might be a little off though as more retailers move to self-scanners (for example, you have 3 diff WWE elites that cost the same, but you scan the same one three times). Ringside has individual listings and considering the close relationship with Mattel, I would imagine they are providing a lot of data to them in a timely manner.
AFA has said in the Q&A that he can't share sales figures (other than usual suspects like John Cena and Rock being huge sellers) so I don't see them changing their stance on that. Answers from AFA in Q&A:
"Every figure does have an individual toy number and barcode so we can already track performance on a figure by figure basis."
"Not really info I’m at liberty to share but the usual suspects are perennial best sellers like John Cena and the Rock."
"We don’t get the detailed data from discount retailers that we do from the heavy hitters. With that said, it doesn’t mean we’d deem something unsuccessful from a collector offering standpoint just because it wound up at a discount outlet for whatever reason. Data, while very important, has to be viewed in complete context of the situation for each individual item."

Exactly, each figure has a unique UPC, which rolls up under the general assortment SKU. So you scan it in a store and it tells you “wwe elite assortment”, but the system will know exactly what UPC was scanned. If I would happen to have a WWE figure at my job (Amazon) I could scan it in my problem solve tools and find the assortment number. And vice versa.

RVD should be any one of his ECW singlets and the chase ONS.

Didn’t Austin Theory wear the ghostface costume for a while? I wonder if they could get away with making that. I doubt it but would be the only way I’d ever buy that fig.

E91 looks like a great lineup. A face WCW Hogan would probably be near the top of my wants for him and any RVD would be fantastic.

I hope it's RVDs ring attire from Summerslam 2003.
