All my packaging goes in the trash anyway. That said, the UE figures have a nice display factor to them, it's a shame if they cut corners.
But, as stated, if they need to save money to save the line, I'd rather it be on the packaging then the figures.

The depth of the box doesn’t matter because the figures are only so thick and honestly those huge boxes were a waste of plastic and paper, so it’s not going to make a difference because the other dimensions are the same. Unsure of the difference between the inserts so I’m not gonna comment on that

That's because AFA said it's not true, and the packaging is the same..

He followed up saying it had changed but he didn’t notice it initially. The depth as reported is a bit shallower but height and width is the same. You can see the subtle changes on insta - @pyramidwrestling. Here’s a screenshot of one his posts: Atleast they still display nice 👍

One hundred percent agree -- at least $1,000 there -- just to see the boxes. To each their own...

If I had an all mint in box collection like that, I’d consider it. Boxes take up too much space. Those same shelves would display like 1/3 of the figures. This way looks like a library and you can always go up and pull out a box and admire it or show off. It’s very clean compared to say tommyslavs pile

Or people can do whatever they want and this is a toy forum so I’m not sure I follow. I guess someone could collect books and figures. I open mine mostly, but this is a very clean way to organize/display a mint in package collection. Know what’s really dumb? People that buy stuff just to stick in a plastic bag in a tote somewhere to be forgotten. Again, it’s their collection, but more of a mental illness at that point. Why do you need to have something just to know you have it or not? LOL

I was going after Cardona with that one. Sorry if it hit too close to home. Tbf I have a bin of POP vinyls I have no idea what to do with so.... It's all good. I'm guilty of it with my WWF/E figures, but in my defense, I don't have the shelf space I would like to have (yet) to display my collection. Also, I have a Destructo-Kitty in the prime of his life so I must account for him, too. As for my NECA movie turtles and AEW figs I preordered but have yet to open that are just sitting in a corner somewhere, I'm undecided on whether I want to keep collecting them or leave them as-is to resell later. I'm usually pretty good at knowing what I want and what I don't want to collect, but I'm having to catch myself more and more with non-WWF/E lines. POPs, I can generally take or leave, but those Dumb and Dumber ones coming out early next year...

I think it's definitely a line of when it goes from being a hobby to being an addiction? But if you have the money, I don't think it's a huge deal if it is an addiction (which I think it is to own hundreds-thousands, as I used to). As long as you can afford it, so much healthier than horrible stuff you could be doing instead
