Wrestling Spotlight #2: Jake "The Snake" Roberts

again, would like to hear your thoughts on whatever wrestler chosen. did you care for them or not, fav matches/fueds/opponents, titles/matches you wish they had, thoughts on their whole career, etc, etc.
#2) Jake Roberts:

man, another one of my all time favs. he was in soooo many great matches and fueds. he was a solid big-name mainstay in wrestling for many years. one of the wrestlers who many in the world know his name. ALOT of people know the name "jake the snake". hec, anybody, i knew named jake i used to call em that lol. the DDT is one of the most famous moves ever because of him. right there with hulk, warrior, savage he had merchandise galore of figures, posters, stuffed animals, coloring books, etc. seems like he was on dam near every ppv for years! His promos were some of the best ever in pro wrestling. the man could talk! and his walkout music gave you the chills as well.
my 1st real BIG memory of him was when he attacked steamboat and DDT'd him on the cement floor. that was BRUTAL! it also made me wonder how real wrestling was as my dad and i kept saying man that really looks real lol. i kno i saw him in world class and with road warriors once before wwf, but its such a vague memory. and then at wm2 and on tv putting the snake on people. but the steamboat DDT was what sticks out. his fued with the dragon and the snakes/lizards/alligators was awesome! then the match at the Big Event!
loved how he was a bad guy but wwf started putting him against rulebreakers on SNME like bundy & kamala. that was EXCITING crap to me! going after savage's IC title as a heel at the time was sweet too!
then we have The Snake Pit! how many awesome things happened there? LOVED IT!

fueds vs steamboat, honky, rude, andre, dibiase, martel, earthqauke, and savage in 91/92, lawler in 96, were ALL some of the GREATEST FUEDS of all time! SOOOOOOOOOO many memories from all of them! in late 91, the whole jake,warrior,undertaker,savage thing was very scary and cool at the time! wish we coulda got a big tag match with jake/undertaker vs warrior/savage!
he was part of 2 of my fav survivor series teams ever in 1987 & 1989:

was kinda bummed to see him leave wwf but was neat seeing him show up in wcw. (back when there were still wwf guys and nwa/wcw guys and they jump ship). he didnt do much over in wcw tho and it was short lived. no matches stick out and he only fueded with stng, so. but was very cool to see him come back in 1996. him, warrior, sid, & piper all coming back helped keep old school going for me at the time! that fued with lawler was soooo funny!
total legend in every sense of the word! didnt need any belts, but woulda been cool to see him to beat honkytonk man for the IC belt at the time!
