So Bruce Mitchell did indeed lose his job for that article. Amanda Huber freaking lit him up on her Instagram too. Normally I'm not one to advocate one "mistake" costing someone a job but what Bruce wrote was a fail on so many levels and not what I'm ever looking for out of a dirt sheet writer.
On a more heartwarming note, aew literally signed Brodie Lee jr. to a contract. The little guy freaking loves wrestling and he now has a guaranteed job in aew when he turns 18 if he still wants it. Super cool.

If I may ask..
What is his actual name? Brodie Huber? Brodie Lee Huber? I feel like it might confuse some people into thinking Brodie Lee was Jon Huber’s real name when seeing Brodie Lee Jr. constantly mentioned.

Super cool. Bruce Mitchell's lack of humility and lack of remorse, and his reactions on Twitter say it all. Just a complete and total lack of empathy for a widow who just lost her husband and father of her children. This happened less than a week ago. His lack of empathy was shocking to me.

His longtime ring name was Brodie Lee pre and post-WWE I believe. 🤦🏻♂️ I’m asking about his son

It's been really heartwarming to see how much the group from AEW has done to try to bring at least a little joy for the family right now. From the card for tonight's Dynamite to the skit with Brodie Jr. at the last taping to JR taking him to a Jags game this weekend.
And while I'm sure it will be a rough road ahead for Amanda and the kids, I don't know if you could find two people in the world who can relate better than Brian Pillman Jr and Vickie Guerrero.

The only thing I can compare it to was when I heard Eddie died. I had stopped watching wrestling consistently by that point and it kinda took years before it felt real. I don't want to come off insensitive, but I've thought a few times about what the Dark Order and AEW will look like as a whole after this. I think a yearly tournament or gimmick match where ticket sales & merch that night go towards the family would be a great tradition. I'd love to see an annual...something. Annual tournament, tribute show, something. I know in the past tribute shows were a way to raise funds for the family, which may not be an issue since it sounds like AEW may take care of them. But I'd still love to see something keep his name and legacy strong, which doesn't seem to be the trend these days. Stuff like the Dusty Classic, Mae Young Classic, etc was run when it was convenient, and then dropped. I really hope that wouldn't be the case. I've seen people online saying that the DO should just be dropped and go their separate ways. That seems like the absolute last thing Brodie would want, since he specifically tried to elevate some green/lower card talent with the group. I'm not sure how they book this moving forward, but the Dark Order are about to become the purest babyfaces in wrestling. And from what we've head, I think Brodie would smile knowing that something positive could come out of such a terrible situation.

Yeah thankfully money is the last thing the Huber's need to worry about. They'll be taken care of, and come 2030 AEW can mark the debut of the Exalted Son, -1. Yeah you never want to try and speak for someone else when they're gone, but given how much Brodie put into that role, I think that's a safe assumption he would want them to keep going. I don't know exactly how to move the group forward, but I trust that they'll find a good way to do it. I've had many ideas and thoughts about how to keep the Dark Order going, and the only constant is that they are now the supreme babyfaces. Which is well needed anyways imo, too many heels not enough faces right now.

I really appreciate AEW’s response. As well as the response on social media. WWE’s response as a company on the other hand has been very disappointing. I’m not going to harp on it more because as others have mentioned, I don’t want this to be an AEW vs WWE thing but yeah. I’ll leave it at disappointing.

Don't know how well their DVD department is performing but I would dig a Brodie Lee set. One disc for his matches, another for tonight's Dynamite.

I don't want to start a WWE/AEW pissing contest, but that tribute show last night showed me that Tony Kahn and AEW care about PEOPLE, while Vince McMahon really only cares about WWE and wants to keep it in a bubble and not acknowledge anything outside WWE.
Tony Kahn let Lance Archer dress up as Luke Harper, and at the end of the show when they laid Brodie's boots in the ring and covered them with the bandana....Tony Kahn did that because he knows how much Brodie Lee meant, not only to AEW and the people there, but he also meant a lot to the wrestlers in the WWE lockeroom and wanted to honor him as Luke Harper too. Tony Kahn didn't care that pics of Brodie had WWE wrestlers in them.
I don't believe for a second that like if MJF were to come to WWE with a different character and then God forbid die, that Vince would let people wear the scarfs to honor his time from AEW and what he meant to AEW.
AEW just seems like a tight place where people care about each other.
It's just really refreshing to see a wrestling company that cares about the real people behind these characters, and not just their own petty bullsh*t.

Not that I was at all prepared to hear the rather grim details, but the latest Grilling JR podcast, unprompted, JR gives quite the run down of what happened with Brodie Lee and his time in the hospital leading up to his untimely passing.
Listener discretion advised.
