This isn’t meant to ignore a Jakks vs. Mattel debate but looking back, what figure(s) did you take for granted at the time of their release?
Be it someone who has only had a Jakks figure or their Mattel counterpart(s) pale in comparison...

Plenty of Jakks CS should come to mind. You have legends Mattel will most likely never get to make at $12.99 price point and widely available in stores. Guys like Giant Gonzalez, Buff Bagwell, Zeus, Adam Bomb, etc are expensive on ebay now.

The entire CS line. I didn't appreciate at the time how special of a line that was. I'm happy I kept a lot of mine, but also lost a lot of them over the years.

Just my CS Giant Gonzalez. I thought it was a nice figure back then but nothing great...Then selling 95% of my Jakks collection and going to Mattel I remembered I still had GG and added it to the shelf and man it looks amazing

All of the figures i tore up to make crappy customs. Had to be in the hundreds. Most regrettably my Classics i either traded or tore up.
I still have about 50 classics

Any that I sold back in the day, even if they weren't necessarily a great figure. I have recently been buying back most of the ones I had originally had. The feeling that I get when I have the figure in my hand again, is something I have just never got with anything else in life. It's always been so much more than a hobby to me, that's why it's never been about the money or the cost.

SO many in the CS line, but that 1985 era Hulk Hogan in particular. It's really an amazing representation of the early Hukamania years.

Kona Crush. I traded it back in 2012 and I can't even remember what for. It was the last Classic Superstars figure I bought at retail before Mattel took over. I know I could just buy another online, but for sentimental reasons, I've regretted it for years now.
