So with the added Macho pack to the retro ring has anyone who was on the fence or debating changed their mind and backed it?

BC has been so behind in figures for a while. Ontario keeps getting all the new stuff! Hoping E85 hits here soon along with Mustafa. Heard AEW series 4 hit somewhere back east as well. Not sure from which retailer but I saw someone post on Facebook OK it's not just me feeling this way. Newest thing I've seen is elite Hayes and the basic summerslam set

Nope!
Now if they just made that a Ringside Exclusive and said, "Here is everything for $299.99" and I could order it right now and have it be here by the end of next week?? I would get it, no doubt. But to put money into it in the hopes it gets made if enough backers come through and waste all that time and hope on it?? No thank you.

I understand your concern but if more people who were interested and on the fence joined then the numbers would be a lot higher. Something like this would never be made any other way.

I have seen many sets back in the day be made that were just as big or even bigger.
I remember Toys R Us had box sets of WWE Figures then. Like 10 figures in a box, with a ring, championship belts, etc.
This just seems like a desperate cash grab by Mattel because they see us wrestling figure collectors as "marks". So it's just a real easy pass for me.

Unfortunately with Toys'R'Us dying in America those days are long gone. Walmart will never take up precious retail space with something like that. We have already seen shelf space for various lines shrink over recent time.

Ahhh yes, that's true too. I forgot that the TRU store isn't in America anymore. Valid point then.

But you aren't putting money into it if it doesn't get made. You don't get charged unless it goes past the 5k supporters. All you would see on your credit card is a pre-authorization charge that simply drops off if the campaign fails. Honestly I think this whole thing has its flaws but the products are still cool. Only gripe from me is having to pay conversion, shipping and duties. But then when I think about this never being made again and how much it will cost on the secondary market with resellers, I'd rather pay the MSRP upfront instead of lining someone else's pockets up later.

honestly though guys, do you really think this will never be made if it doesn't get the backing? They've obviously tooled the ring, entrance, and figures.
If this doesn't get made, they'll moan and complain and blame us collectors - but a few years later (if they still have the license) we'll see Diesel and Doink in a future UE wave (20?), we'll see the new gen entrance released, and the ring will probably be an RSC exclusive at some point.
I'm not actually worried about it. Even if none of that happens and Mattel takes the low road and act spiteful - no big loss, we have 4 Diesels, countless Macho Mans, and a Doink already. The ring is nice, but too big as usual, and you can take or leave the entrance - it's not for everyone.
The whole crowdfunding was terribly planned out, asking price was a cash grab before coughing up Macho Man and some cheap announcer accessories. They overestimated their worth.

They flat out said it wouldn't be made. They haven't started production yet and won't unless the minimum requirement is made. Tooling for a massed produced item is alot cheaper and this won't be carried by any retailers who order thousands of units.

Yeah Steve confirmed during the Major Wrestling Figure podcast that one entrance way has been tooled but production has not started yet. He also noted that even if this does get made, it won't be made again. I get any potential distrust of a big corporation, but what can we say right? This was straight from the horses mouth.

It wouldn't really make sense for them to use the tooling for this if it dosen't succeed unless they are Mass producing this for retail which isn't going to happen. On the plus side they also said they wouldn't be doing another ring which was a sticking point for many.

Also just to add, re-watching the Major Wrestling Figure podcast with Steve and Robert from Mattel, at 40:35 in the video Steve confirms that UE Doink will not get released as a regular figure later on, so there you have it.

guys, I'm not suggesting that the entire set will eventually be made together later.
I'm suggesting that it will be separated out.
You can mass produce a wrestling ring, they've done it with the ASR and the ESR. There's no reason why we wouldn't get this ring if they want to recoup costs on tooling AND make profit from it. Make it a golden era RSC exclusive ring, limited production - I bet most of us will pre-order instantly.
Ultimate Doink, Diesel and Macho are just action figures - hell we already have an ultimate Macho that just involves a redeco. Why wouldn't they be able to mass produce these like the hundreds of other figures they mass produce?
The entrance stage has electronics and is a niche era many are not interested in - that might be something they scrap all together.
So what if they are saying this will NEVER happen again - they are right, crowdfunding like this will NEVER happen again if they don't hit their target, but there's no reason to withhold a ring and figures that they are capable of mass producing.
they sound like sour grapes - they thought the market would clamour for this at $250 and it backfired.

So what if they are saying this will NEVER happen again - they are right, crowdfunding like this will NEVER happen again but there's no reason to with hold a ring and figures that they are capable of mass producing. they sound like sour grapes. Just posted a few seconds before you, but Doink is confirmed to not be released later as a single figure. I don't get the sour grapes vibe from them at all. If anything, I sense a bit of disappointment and frustration from their end after all the work that was put into making this happen, only to see this wave of negativity from the community. If I worked on something for over a year (especially something people were asking for as people have both clamored for a true scale ring and the new generation entrance), only to see people complain I'd be pretty mad. At the end of the day, support it if you want it or don't. But if people are upset with how this rolled out, Mattel has already added extra value for free with the WM10 Macho, commentators table and accessories AND has changed the payment method so that you aren't charged upfront. Any complaint that goes on past that is just some niche gripe someone has because something isn't specifically the way THEY want it. And I'm sorry, that just sounds entitled to me.

They wouldn't need to recoup tooling costs because they haven't spent anything yet. Making one set dosen't cost them that much it's Making the rest which they have no reason to unless a store agrees to carry the item and it can be mass produced.

Biff Slamkovich™ oh please don't get me wrong. As soon as they included Macho Man and the announcer accessories then the products being offered meets the value of $250 - I completely agree. I think it's pretty sad if they spent a year planning this out and what they initially offered at $250 was the best they could do? Really? Like let's be honest guys, do you really feel Macho Man and the announcer accessories was always in the plan? They pulled that together quickly to boost the incentive for fence-sitting backers. I'm not debating on the value of the set, they've made a wise move to add more value as soon as they did because more than likely if they don't have anything more to add after Aug-13, this great increase in backers will stop dead in its tracks. I'm going to make a prediction - if things die after Aug-13 they are going to include the ring skirts for 5k backers and keep dangling that Doink as a carrot because they did threaten say they wont make it

Of course he's gonna say Doink won't be released. Then people will say, "oh! Well, I have to put money down now on this set to get Doink."
I still say this is an easy pass.
And I am a huge New Generation and Diesel mark! But it's not worth my dime. Especially living in Canada and knowing the exchange rate, shipping cost and brokerage fee. No thank you!
