I know *of* Danhausen, but I’ve never seen him wrestle. And I do get that people want to see old school wrestlers in a retro style. I appreciate that perspective.
I; however, love the retro style. I am gonna put my money where my mouth is and support these when released. I have a lot of nostalgia for the Hasbro figures, and when the Mattel Retros came out they completely reinvigorated my love of wrestling figures. Before the Retros, I was only buying minimates, which is a pretty niche market.
It’s awesome to see more companies get on board and try to give fans what they want.

Seeing this tweet worries me that these are going to be limited.

I didn't say those six were the only ones you guys were making, I only said the tweet worried me that they were going to end up being limited despite the response earlier in the thread that what's ordered is what is being produced. I'm guessing these are early test samples or something, since the original pictures posted by you guys on Twitter were the hand sculpted prototypes?

Seeing this tweet worries me that these are going to be limited. Matt said on page 2 that they’ll be pre-order, likely for two weeks. So it sounds like made to order Super7 style. Which is very much appreciated.

Ron doing the designs on these makes them ten times more legitimate to me. I'll buy them all now. 100%. Zombie is a pro's, pro. I guess I shouldn't be shocked this is happening because he's done stuff with Ron before but this is taking it to the next level. My head is spinning on what we could potentially get now. Who's Ron for someone who hasn't digged deep into the Hasbro history?

He did all (or at least most) of the sketches for the original Hasbro line, so basically this line has the same designer.

Looks like Danhausen has signed on. Not a fan of his work at all but it's cool for people who want more current guys in this style I guess. I'll definitely buy Cardona and Myers because they look incredible but unless we get someone like Mance Warner I doubt I'll bother with other current names. Looking forward to seeing what legends have signed on. Yeah that'll be a no from me lmao. Cardona and Myers are the only two post-Hasbro era guys I'll be happy to grab.

I think I'm in the same boat unless we somehow get a Mance Warner in this line. I'd probably buy him. Hard pass on other current wrestlers though.

There will be a pre-order window (likely 2 weeks) and whoever orders them will get them.

No offense to Ron, but it's like a wrestler or athlete coming back 20 years later; they have a semblance of their former selves, but it's not the work we love and remembers.
These aren't up to the original, no matter who is sculpting them. That's a very high standard -- but Mattel came pretty damn close.

The Mattel retros really weren't close to the Hasbros. They were far bulkier, way more cartoony (people are convinced the Hasbros were cartoony but for the era those are all pretty decent realistic approximations of the wrestlers) and had mostly terrible head sculpts. I had a near complete MOC collection at one point and those figures looked and felt very cheap next to the originals. The detail on the sculpting on the ZST figures looks a lot closer to the original Hasbros and Ron's original artwork than Mattel got.

I had high hopes for the retro line, but that awful Series 1 Warrior should have told me what to expect more than anything else. I can't fully judge ZST's until we see the final product but I have high hopes for these now. RnR express is almost exactly the kinda thing I'd love to see so I'm excited for more info!
