This was a great show minus Wardlow vs Hager. I actually like Hager unlike most everyone here. He did have good matches in wwe so I don't know what's going on here?

He doesn't have good matches in AEW. That's my issue. He's a waste of a roster spot and shine that should be going to someone else. Like, imagine if Miro were in Hager's role instead. |

I'm curious about Cody's connection to the Elite as of now. He's technically still part of the Elite, correct? But is he associated with the Super Elite that has kind of taken over in recent weeks? I wanna see how he'll interact with them because his character at the moment isn't really close to how I feel the Super Elite is portrayed.

I wouldn't expect him to interact with them for a long while. He can't even challenge for Kenny's title. Cody is ex-Bullet Club, but that doesn't really mean anything. |

Wow did you see the number for this week's show? It tanked! 662,000, Dave from PWinsider makes the excuse of news coverage of the Capitol building and the protests. Shouldn't NXT have gone down too? They went up a little. AEW still won, but I expected close to a million really. Maybe more!

What it likely means is that about 300k watched the news instead of wrestling, and the 150k or so that tend to flip flop between NXT and AEW favored NXT last night. Makes sense, even though Kenny/Fenix is a huge match, the outcome was obvious, where as there was a very real chance KOR was going to take that title. (And should have. Grr.) |

The trends have shown that whenever something big in politics happen, a huge chunk of AEW viewers watch news that night and watch Dynamite on DVR. It's pretty predictable at this point. I'm sure the AEW front office are bummed, but they're not caught off guard by this. Their DVR numbers will be massive. |

is there not some way than they can stream the content as well? I swear, the elephant in the room is that by and large the audience for AEW is more than capable of finding and watching bootleg streams. boomers still watch cable, and then there's few and far between.
AEW needs to find a way of getting those numbers as viewership too, the audience is made up of people who have been forced to be linguistically sound with today's technology in order to keep up to it, guaranteed that there's big numbers lost there.

I know TNT has an app, but I don't know if they do on demand stuff/if you have to have the cable channel to use it. I've been streaming since day one with TSN direct, which we don't need a cable subscription for. I don't know how quickly it gets archived but it's always there by the next morning. It's the same price as fite tv would be, but I don't need to get a VPN for it. I'm sure a fair amount with VPN's in America use the international fite tv option. Ultimately though I think a lot of the bootleg streamers just aren't going to pay no matter what. Some of them will support by buying merch, some will just freeload and drain the system. I'm certain Tony and TNT already account for those percentages when they consider ratings, etc. Far from just an issue with AEW, it's an issue with all media, and one that I think the media is really struggling to contain right now. |

Great point. A ton of people (myself included) cut the cable. I use Hulu Live, but still. NXT has an extremely loyal base of 50+ year old viewers. AEW has a more diverse audience that absolutely uses alternative ways to watch what they want. There has to be some way for them to loosely calculate how many pirated views they get on average. |

That woman is going to be the #1 female star in this company in about 4-5 years, and it's going to be super critical in these 4-5 years to not rush her development and push her into the spotlight too fast. She has only wrestled like 30 real matches, and literally never wrestled in front of a full crowd. |
