So there is this weird divide with the Fiend currently. It seems like most of the internet wrestling fans seem done with the fiend and aren’t into it....however, Meltzer said that the Fiend was the top merch seller in WWE for 2020 by a lot, and the YouTube views for Fiend/Alexa Stuff are huge so I mean there is obviously a divide somewhere.
I thought he was great to start with, the funhouse skits were a blast, the funhouse match with Cena was great. The stalking of the legends and Finn etc was fantastic. But I did think the fiend character was a very bad champion, cause he wasn’t beatable and I’m not super into the Orton feud. But I loved pretty much most stuff in the first year of the character. So I mean honestly what does the WWE do?

Actually doing something with him would be great. Really dragging out his return trying to prolong his feud with Orton to Mania.

I've never been into the fiend at all, and even beyond that I was never a big fan of Wyatt outside of his initial Wyatt family promos/entrance/character. there isn't a single bray wyatt match that I'd be drawn to rewatch. some of that is wwe's fault, feeding him to Undertaker at mania in a badly developed feud did him no good.

I have skipped 90 percent of Fiend matches & segments since he aligned with Bliss. Best idea is to kill him off again then repack Wyatt as something new.

I think Alexa Bliss has been great in this angle. I’m iffy about the fiend himself, though. And this might be nit picky but from a kayfabe view it’s crazy to me how Orton can recover from burns in a week but Kane had to wear a mask for years.

I still enjoy Wyatt/Fiend, but I can admit the gimmick isn't for everyone and the actual matches leave a ton to be desired. Alexa, I'm less sold on right now. Been pushing heavy for a drastic measure to bring Fiend back and give her a new look, but that doesn't look likely now.
You have a supernatural entity with zero humanizing characteristics (unlike the tweaked versions of Kane and Taker), of course you need to be very selective and methodical in how you book him, not the current product's strong point. We haven't been given much at all to make us believe the Fiend should care about earthly possessions. Until they establish that or some "weakness" that connects him with humanity, Fiend's only goal should be inflicting pain and torment on others, not winning matches or championships.

If it sells merch and draws ratings, they'll keep it, "bad" booking or otherwise.
If it doesn't, they'll try something new, or it may be the final straw for Bray.
Only one man really knows what's next for The Fiend, and that's Vince.

I wonder if The Fiend will come back from the dead with a shaved head??
If YouTube views are up in regards of Alexa Bliss it's because of only Alexa Bliss. If they had Tamina Snuka in that role I can't see fans giving two craps about The Fiend.
I hate The Fiend character. It was handled wrong from the start. He could not be beat by weapons of mass destruction in the HIAC match with Seth Rollins, but an old man can jackhammer him and pin him, 1, 2, 3.
Oh well, to each their own. But I rather see Alexa Bliss keep her version of what the Fiend is within her own character and just let Bray go back to being "Husky Harris" again Ha ha ha

I think it's great, and (unpopular opinion warming) is better than anything cult leader Bray ever did.
Everything Alexa, despite her best efforts, is rubbish though. They need to end that and move him away from Orton as it is getting a bit stale.

Gotta get him back to being a monster. The title losses and the loss to Orton really hurt the development of the character. He isn't a guy that needs a title to be an attraction. At the same time he can't be in feuds with guys like Orton, Rollins, Reigns etc who they are still pushing as top names and more into feuds where he can squash/destroy. As for Bliss, she's done her role absolutely perfect. Theres very few talents that can pull off their lines with reactions as well as facial expressions as she can. Say what you will about her in ring ability but she by far can tell a story better than 95% of the women on the roster.
They have the 2 right people for the roles but ultimately the creative team has got to have an understanding and plan for how they want the story to play out.

Give him a wrestlemania entrance where he's surrounded by a bunch of Doinks.

The Stuff The Fiend does interests me. He's like an attraction and he isn't forced down our throats which really helps keep the character fresh. My main issue so far was the loss to Goldberg. It was unnecessary and made absolutely no sense, but apart from that his stuff is always enjoyable.
If your asking if he's popular then all you have to do is look at merch sales. If a wrestler hits number 1 then they are going in the right direction. He is possibly one of the most marketable guys on the roster right now.
He also has drawing power which is rare for todays talent. Videos on youtube featuring The Fiend usually hit a few million views and the comments are filled with fans claiming that he's the best thing in the company so IMO the character has been beyond successful.
This will be an unpopular opinion but Cult Bray sucked. Don't get me wrong he has always put on good matches and The Wyatt Family stable were great but Bray by himself was awful for the most part. He talked a good show but always got his ass kicked in the ring so it got to the point I could not take the character seriously

Big fan of Bray. Couldn’t care less about Alexa. As long as they have something to do with Bray though where he actually gets booked well I’ll be into. Run another FFF match with Orton at Mania and then move him on to someone that’s not boring as hell Braun. That was rough last year.

I enjoyed his first year but I will say the Orton stuff is getting old. Don't mind Bliss with him as much as others I think she's doing a good job with what she's given, only thing I wish would change with her is give her a cool mask when Fiend finally gets back and leave both of them away from the titles just have them wanting to hurt and screw with their opponents.

When he made his debut at Summerslam, the feedback was so positive. His debut was either going to flop or "work." I think the mistake that WWE made was they jumped the gun and pushed him straight into the title picture based off of the feedback. They didnt fully think things out long-term and then they had to pull back from him since Vince only has a couple current stars in mind that he wants for WM main events along with returning Legends.
They should have created a "slow burn" and used the Fiend sparingly (big 4 PPVs) while Bray wrestled as Funhouse Bray in between that tried to fend off the Fiend whule teasing his full transformation. Eventually, the Fiend fully takes over and he wins the title. That should have been around Survivor Series 2020 after almost 1.5 yrs of build up and feuds that he would have won (they could have still followed the story of getting back at Firefly Bray's feuds).
They also should have added a couple of other characters to the Funhouse (other than puppets) like they are doing with Alexa sooner. He could have had a mini Fiend cult (not too big tho) and I agree that they all need some type of mask (doesnt have to be a evil clown mask) for their own alter egos/split personalities.
Then, they could have built to a returning to the main roster Demon Balor (winning the rumble) for Fiend vs. Demon Balor at this years Wrestlemania. Or some type of cinematic match with Taker (as his for real last match and would fit with theme of revisiting past feuds that Firefly Bray lost). If they do have fans this yr, they could start/finish in the ring, but the middle turns into a cinematic match when they head to the back or the lights go out and they "teleport" to the cinematic match.

I think they've made a mess of it with the Alexa Bliss thing - she turned heel to join Bray, at the same time Bray was turning babyface to feud with Roman/Orton. Currently, there's no reason to support him or to root against him. I think there's still tons of mileage in the character though, and I'm looking forward to him deconstructing Randy Orton's career like Cena's. From Raw, it seemed like that may happen in the build to WrestleMania this year rather than in the showdown itself.
