When did this concept stop? Watching WMXV, and I notice the tons of Japanese (and other international) camerapeople at ringside. I'm thinking it was gone by perhaps 2003? And when did it start even? Was it around in the mid '90s?
Go ahead and move this to the classic board if it must be the way things need to go.

No one wants to see a bunch of dudes holding iPhones at ringside.

It made wrestling look much more credible that’s for sure. But they probably did away with it for safety reasons. Because of entrances with motorcycles along with the wrestling style changing to where every match has suicide dives in them the added journalists/photographers at ringside were probably just in the way.

It was so the company could control what photos got out. I was happy to see them gone. Made for too much clutter and God forbid they might of got hit and then probably of no sold it!!
