First time posting on here. I have been looking through the forum for years for figure news, spoilers, collectors opinions on the product etc...
My question is how are U.K. collectors still managing to still collect at the moment? I have been collecting WWE/WWF figures since the Hasbro days, have most Jakks Classics in Box and Loose. With the Mattels I’m mostly interested in Legends/Flashbacks. The plan was to not collect and stop when Jakks lost the license however the early figures of Macho Man & Ricky Steamboat pulled me back in.
With the Target and Walmart exclusives and chase figures, mainly Legends Line and Decade of Domination how are U.K. collectors managing to get hold of these and affordable prices. Example: I cannot find Greg Valentine for under £50 online anywhere. It’s becoming harder and harder to justify buying these figures especially with included import fees which seem to be higher than ever. Any tips, hints, guidance would be very much appreciated.

It's a bit tough. £35 is my absolute limit for a figure, so Legends and DoD are out of the question for me.
At least Smyths are getting the Collectors' Edition figures nowadays. I really wanted Kassius Ohno and Paige, but I never had a chance.
Though I guess the Fan Central figures are becoming available on a few different UK sites, so I live in hope Legends and DoD might suddenly appear here too.

I have been buying directly from ringside with the recent aew it’s been killing my wallet. Expensive with the shipping but when going to Smyths it’s kinda a gamble, plus there isn’t a Smyths near central london lol. Keep an eye out for kassus ohno I have one and more then likely put it up on eBay in the next 2-3 weeks.

In terms of main lines, we're doing alright. Missed 81 and 82 bar Street Profits but other than that it's back on track and we're getting the collectors edition too. For me at least the Walmart/Target exclusives being unavailable to us isn't a big hit, but I can get some peoples feelings on it. The most recent US figure I wanted but could never get was the Legends Jake Roberts, but so far I've never seen it at a reasonable price. Still overall pretty decent given all of the independent businesses we have and Smyths.

I'm a Legends/Flashback collector too - I'm mainly just collecting the Ultimate Edition and Collector's Edition figures these days though... Thankfully, I don't really need all the repaints/variations that most of the DOD and Legends figures seem to be. I did pick up Valentine though (for £40).
It sucks that UK stores have stopped stocking the UE figures... I still haven't found an UE Hogan for under £60 ($83!). We have had a break with the recent CE Bulldog and Kama figures though, which is pretty cool.

Simple answer is paying more for the ones I do buy, but being more selective over what I buy.
I've given up collecting current roster WWE as I hate the product and have most of the legends I want. I got Ultimate Macho from Ringside and avoided a customs charge which was nice. Paid a bit over the odds on ebay for Legends Tatanka and Million $ Man.
Most of my money will go on AEW now. A full set costs about £140 from Ringside plus any customs which I'm ok with.

As for E81 and 2, there are plenty of other UK sellers selling them at reasonnable non rip off prices, if you wait long enough Smyths are finally coming through on the collectors edition front too. UE wise, again Ive counter 4 or 5 UK sellers more small time ones making them available, yes they are not retail price but if you shop around inc P&P they com in at only a tenner more anyway.

That’s something that I definitely need to start doing is putting a limit on what a figure is actually worth. I find it difficult when it’s a first time in line figure like a Gorilla Monsoon or a repaint of a figure like Bobby Heenan in the Weasel suite. I mean the team at Mattel must know that these are in demand. It’s incredibly frustrating.

They often advertise a date for getting figures in and never do. It can be very hit and miss. There isn’t always a pre-order option with their site also.

I’m still weighing up whether I’m getting that bloody thing, I can’t find it cheaper than £60!!!! 🤦♂️

Sounds like you've been very lucky, my friend... the only place I ever saw the UE Hogan at for less than £60 was an online wrestling store - who had him for pre-order but quickly sold out. Same thing (place) for the Macho and Edge UEs too. Apart from that though, it's very slim pickings... even two well-known online UK wrestling stores no longer stock the UE's.

It was an impulse buy as it’s a figure that is greatly missing from my collection. I tend to be a sucker for superstars or looks that were never really captured with the Jakks Classic Superstars line. I’m still unsure about that Bulldog? It doesn’t look that great, the cheap looking Bulldog accessorise has put me off somewhat I swear.

Appart from the recent John Morrison elite and Ultimate Edition Charlotte Flair it’s all Flashbacks / Legends for me. They seem of really cut down the amount of them that are now coming into the Elite series. Not fussed about get another elite Sid I thought they captured him perfectly with his last elite figure.

Smyths have me sorted for almost everything I need. They've stocked all of the recent mainline Elite releases (except for 82) plus brought some exclusives over. It helps that I live close to a store, so that I can click & collect with ease, but Home Delivery has free shipping over £15 too, so it's incredibly cost effective to just order toys one at a time if I don't think my local branch will get a case in (spoiler, they always do). Even AEW figures have been easy for me to get there. Just keep an eye on the UK section of these forums. And if Smyths don't have it, there are 4-6 good online stores stocking the rest. That's how I got my Elite 82 Morrison. Everything else is Smyths. New anyhow.
Older figures are older figures. I keep an eye on eBay, and strike when the price is right.

You can find Razor and Heenan for around 35 or less if you're lucky on the bay I bit the bullet and got Heenan in the Weasel suite a while back for like £50, for me it was a must have figure. Not fussed about the Razor, I don’t mind when these exclusives are just standard repaints but when it’s first time in line like Greg Valentine or a the inclusion of something like the Weasel suite it should be made available to people outside the U.S. Mattel would want our money going to them directly you’d think? Yeah... Valentine was the only guy I wanted out of all the new Legends series (7-10). So I'm not too bothered about their lack of availability... it sucks for those who do want them though. It's interesting that since Valentine, all the first-time-in-the-line figures (eg. Billy Graham, Rocky Johnson, Mae Young, Michael Hayes, Kama) have been kept as Collector's Edition figures - not in the Legends line. I'm OK with this, as the CE figures are much easier/cheaper to get hold of than the Legends ones(!).

The direction Mattel are going in even if they did put out another version no doubt it would just be as difficult to get hold off. So after months of consideration I just had to get it £80!!! 🤦♂️ It’s not right. Such of fan of his and Heenan though as a double act, I couldn’t not have him.

Personally, I'm very selective about what figures I'll choose to buy. They have to be someone I particularly like, and a good likeness in a decent attire. Really, the only legend I'll buy is Ultimate Warrior. Half of my collection are of the women's division, so the only ones I feel like I missed out on were the US exclusive Carmella and Paige figures.
Ringside and other US exclusives don't seem too bad to get a hold of, with either Wrestling Trader or FigPopShop (in some cases both) importing them. Personally, I will never order internationally, unless I know customs fees are already taken of from places like Amazon(US). With both WT and FPS offering Klarna as a payment option, that makes it a hell of a lot easier to spread the payments, rather than dropping significant amounts at once.
And it seems Amazon(UK) are picking up their selection, having bought UE Shinsuke, Fiend and E84 Rhea from there.
So really, my main go-tos are either Smyths, Wrestling Trader, FigPopShop, Amazon and eBay (for those ones I missed before I started collecting).
