I liked heel Austin UNTIL the Invasion. He was so heely. Only problem there was no decent babys to challenge him so they had to go back to Taker again. Benoit & Jericho were there but they just didn't build them up enough. I think the problem with Benoit and Jericho is that Vince never pushed them as legit threats to Austin. They each were booked to have multiple title shots on Raw and Smackdown against Austin in the lead up to King of the Ring that year and couldnt get the job done. Then they were booked to loose at King of the Ring despite logic saying they could have worked together to eliminate Austin from the match. Benoit then got hurt, and Jericho was put into a midcard feud with Rhyno while Kurt got the main event spot with Austin. |

I actually liked Jeff Hardy’s heel stuff in TNA, it def had legs, taking away the Swanton because it played to the crowd and he stopped doing it because he refused to sacrifice his body anymore for the fans was a stroke of genius. Unfortunately we all saw how it ended up.
I could never see Mysterio as a heel, guys who are too charismatic or too flashy with their move sets always have the worst times getting over as heels.
Arguably you could say the Rock was never a heel after his Nation schtick. Sure he was supposed to be disliked in 2003 but he was still always the most entertaining guy on the program, thus do you really hate him at that point?
