Such weird stuff when your two biggest “reporters” in the dirts have conflicting reports. So Meltzer said Black was sitting in catering and wouldn’t be used, but then stories came out that Black was dealing with injuries. Now Mike Johnson said Black has actually been at the performance center getting back in ring shape to be cleared and be back on TV. This is why people shouldn’t be so quick to believe everything they read online.
I’m not saying Meltzer is lying but I think he gets fed bad info, or asks someone a question as to why someone isn’t on tv and runs with the story when it isn’t true.
Anyway, I assume we see Black back on tv after mania.
Also Keith Lee has a medical reason he isn’t on tv, and had integral plans on the mania card.

I was a massive fan of his.
Was being the key word, because once they changed his theme and turned him heel I really struggled to care. I wouldn't be surprised if they really did have nothing for him because he needs a complete repackage. I wouldn't be overly surprised to see him on the Raw or Smackdown after Mania but they really screwed him over with his call up.

Dave said he had been healing up from injuries. He meant sitting in catering as in just sitting on the bench to use a sports analogy. That's the wrestling version of that term pretty much. In the current climate, I don't think they are bringing guys to TVs that they outright aren't using at all.
Just look at the amount of guys missing from locker room scene on RAW this past week. No Tucker, Erik, Riddick Moss, Titus. So I doubt Black has been there at all. Him being at the Performance Center sounds more likely.

I feel so terrible for Black. He’s one of those guys where, I feel like you have to go out of your way to mess up a guy like that. He’s just so damn talented.

They never should have broken up Black and Ricochet as a tag team when they did. Those guys came up and were over as hell as a tag team. They broke them up and it was like career death for both guys. Neither of them have really been used in any meaningful capacity since.

It's funny you say that because people hated how they were just thrown together, myself included, but looking back they made an awesome tag team. Their NXT farewell match against the War Raiders at Takeover New York is one my favourite tag matches in recent memory. Black's had a couple of good matches with Murphy and Ricochet had a forgettable US title reign, but besides that you're totally right.

Black's had a couple of good matches with Murphy and Ricochet had a forgettable US title reign, but besides that you're totally right. You are absolutely right. It didn't make any sense. But typically WWE never really has any idea what to do with NXT talent when they are moved the main roster. But for what it was, like you said, they were an awesome tag team. I think crowd reaction and message board reaction are often two polar opposites. For whatever was being said online about them being together making no sense, the people in the arena were digging them. And that positive arena reaction and negative message board reaction is probably based on the fact that I'd assume that less than 50% of the general WWE fans that attend shows actually watch NXT, and people who post on message boards are more aware of what is going on in NXT and have existing knowledge of NXT talent before they go to RAW/SD. I'm going to say that the majority of people watching and attending RAW and SD at that time, it was probably the first time they'd seen those guys. Message board fans who had been watching NXT already knew who they were and didn't understand why they were together.

Guy covered in tattoos, with big bushy beard and strange hairstyle.... he is a dime a dozen anymore in pro wrestling.

Hopefully he returns and goes back to NXT,where Triple H and company can use him properly.Give me a Balor Vs Black title match and program in NXT.Really sad to see how so many talent wrestlers like Black,Ricochet,Murphy,Ali,Benjamin,Hardy,Kalisto,Lee...ect are or aren't even being used on the main roster. The WWE has way to much talent and if they can't find a worth while role for talents are don't think they have any drawing ability should let them go and move on.Hopefully more talents get their release like Andrade.

Must be a pretty serious injury since he’s been off for months and months and months. I don’t even remember the last time I saw him it’s been so long. If this is true I really hope they have ideas for him. They completely ruined what he was working towards with the half assed middle of nowhere heel turn and subsequent loss to Owens. I know it’s cliché, but if they have nothing for him he’s on the top of my AEW want list.

Guy covered in tattoos, with big bushy beard and strange hairstyle.... he is a dime a dozen anymore in pro wrestling. How dare you. He also has a vague generic goth persona, and he does flips! He is completely unique and valuable. For proof of how much of a difference-maker he is, all you have to do is look at the Raw and SmackDown threads nowadays since he’s been off TV. Nothing but complaints. Now look at the threads from when he was active and on tv most weeks - because Aleister Black is such a star, threads for shows he appeared on were probably overwhelmingly positive. I mean, maybe they weren’t positive and he’s just another flippy nobody, but that would mean he’s been overrated in this thread.

Whatever the case, they weren't doing a very good job at using him before he stopped appearing on TV. Unfortunately I don't have very high hopes for what happens if he does return to television.

Heyman sure had some plans to use Black and others on RAW. Once they took Heyman away they just dropped any ideas they had to use them.
I feel bad when I see a guy like Ricochet being used as a jobber instead of a challenger. The boy, like Black have great potential to carry the WWE into the next generation.

He could be training at the Performance Center because he was recovering from minor injuries.

it's crazy to see how much hype he had, being called the potential next Undertaker by some, and now he's dead in the water.
