I am probably in the minority, but Christian looked so...old I mean Kazarian is a 20+ year veteran too and looks in immaculate shape. Christian looked gassed (but 7 years out of the ring would do that), kept pulling up tights, and his selling looked absolutely real - like he really got clocked. I can't see him as a main event showcase to challenge Omega. And I'm a Christian fan. I really enjoyed the match, but you're right. Christian needs a few more tune up matches before I buy him as a credible challenger. That said, I think the floor for a Christian/Omega match is 4 stars.

Man, remember when Lee Johnson got his first win and didn't thank qt? I love these slow burning stories.
I assume the mini feuds within the nightmare factory split are gonna be:
Qt vs Dustin Cody vs ogogo Shawn Dean/Carlie Bravo vs solow and comorotto. Could do Dean and Lee Johnson too, I just like that Carlie/Shawn team for the military connection.

To be fair, face Christian has always been an amazing seller. I think we’ve gotten so use to performers today no-selling throughout matches that a lot of people forget it’s an actual art that few today excel at (Christian being one of the few). Being his first match in 7 years, I’ll give him a break with looking a tad gased at the end, but I had no problem with his selling. It was refreshing to me to see someone put some effort into it for once.

Can’t just beat Kaz and jump to the top of the rankings

Ratings were weirdly low last night. A bit below norm in the demo, and only 700k total. Most of the loss seemed to be that typical 49+ where they struggle, and they were still like 7th on the night or something. Though NXT did better this week than prior in the demo, so they may have lost some there, overall both shows were down on total viewers. It's not like the NBA did huge numbers last night by any stretch, so I really don't know where those people went. It's like they just didn't watch either product last night. Shame, because I really thought that was one of the strongest dynamite's ever. I haven't seen NXT yet so I don't know how their episode was last night, but who knows. Maybe Revolution ending did more damage than I'd realized. It's marginally up from this time last year, but this time last year was a low point at the start of a pandemic when everyone lost like 30% of their viewers overnight.
Hopefully the strength of this week's show is reflected in next week's ratings. Should be a good show next week too, between the Bucks & Mox against Omega/Good Brothers, and Darby defending his title. Though the non-dark audience is going to still have no idea why they should care at all about him facing JD Drake, even though it should be a really good match.

Can’t just beat Kaz and jump to the top of the rankings AEW has gotten super lazy starting this year when it comes to how the rankings work for title pictures. Adam Page, Max Caster, HOBBS, PAC, hell, even QT Marshall have all been undefeated this year with 4 or more singles wins, so if Christian were to logically surpass them, he'd either have to wrestle more than them over the next couple of months (which is doubtful unless we see him fight on Dark) or they'd have to have Christian pin Kenny in a non-title situation and hotshot him past the other guys. The TNT title is in even worse shape, because aside from Cage (who shouldn't have even been competing for the belt, Darby has only been fighting jobbers and dark guys.

I'm fine if they start establishing that certain wins elevate you up in the rankings. Maybe even go with something like wins on Dynamite hold more weight then Dark/Elevation. Like a month ago when Britt had the match with Nyla and they said they were something like the third and forth ranked Women's competitors, and I'm watching it like "who could possibly be ahead of them?" and then I find out it's Red Velvet at number one because she picked up a bunch of wins over enhancement talent.

At one point they actually did establish this. I don't know how true to from they've been on going with this, but at one point they were commenting about why Shawn Spears (I think) wasn't in the top 5, and TK basically said it's because most of his wins were on lower card guys, so it wasn't as credible as some guys with worse records whose wins came on Dynamite.
