Up until series 9 they were great with preorders. But with Series 9 they became just as bad as Walmart now it’s also moved to other brands as they’ve not only kept delaying my Undertaker now they are delaying my DC preorders.

Haven’t seen DiBiase at all in either color
I’ll preorder a DDP and maybe a Cena. I wanted the blue Beefcake but since it has the yellow jacket still I don’t care now

I’d like to get Vader from this set so hopefully I don’t miss out on this one. I started watching wrestling near the end of his WWE run but I always thought he was super cool. I’d rent older PPVs from the video store if he, Sting or Kane was on the card. He’s one of the first figures I owned too.
Still annoyed we got this DDP gimmick before his WCW look with jeans. I’ve been waiting on that version for years now.

How many people had constantly pushed back dates on Razor Ramon and Greg Valentine? I am talking about my personal experiences. I have placed at least 25 preorders at Target over the last couple years for WWE, Mattel DC, McFarlane DC, Spin Master DC, Hasbro ML/SW/GI Joe. And other than the GI Joe Beach Head being delayed a few weeks I never had an issue with Target.com. Now since I preordered Legends Series 9 It’s been delayed every week since they started shipping. Finally this week I found them locally and canceled my preorder. And now two of my 3 McFarlane DC figure preorders have been delayed twice already. Until this year’s preorders I never had an issue or doubted I would receive my orders. Now not so much. With Walmart I have had about the same amount of preorders and only once have I ever actually received one of my preorders. And the sad part was I had actually canceled that order a month earlier. Everything else I preordered they would delay a few times and then they’d cancel them. They’ve been great with shipping items that were “in stock”, but the worst with preorders. |

I've never even seen legends 9 I've seen them once (M$M and Undertaker) and not since. And I frequent a lot of Targets. These definitely aren't being distributed like L8 was, thats for sure. Hopefully they will start coming around more now like the past 2 series did. |

I have never had Target actually fulfill my preorder so I assume it will be just like the others and eventually cancelled... I even had AEW figures cancelled and they posted that they had them after they delayed my order that they eventually cancelled. Surprisingly I've had better luck with walmart.

I'll try to preorder Vader. It'll be my third Mattel WWE purchase this year and my first of the Legends relaunch. Legends has been not great to me. Had Beefers been The Zodiac, I would have gotten it.

God that’s a terrible figure. They should’ve just rereleased the Fan Central that was on TRUs death bed. Classic manager Heenan. But no, release a one time outfit, that isn’t even accurate, and he’s wearing by eyeshadow or lipstick? The true fx doesn’t work for him. God I hate that figure. And Tito too. Thanks Hogan and Sting for ruining Targets WF distribution....

Marvel has different ones for X-men, Spider-Man, avengers, etc. so they probably get pushed out quicker. I never see wwe figures get yellow stickered. |

Hopefully I’ll be able to grab a Vader. L9 didn’t seem to sell out that fast , as I waited awhile before ordering Taker. I’m hoping this series is the same.

And he also did the weasel suit match while in the AWA. But I agree, they shouldn't have packed him twice. I think this would have been the perfect opportunity to pack the Valentine figure twice and up the amount of the chase figure so the regular figure wouldn't clog shelves. I want to say that AFA touched on this a few years back, they didn't pack Tito extra like they did Heenan, it was just the next number down in the order and how the re-stock machine chose the figure. If situations like this arise in the future, with one figure not being able to get released, they shouldn't just double up on one figure, they should spread it around so each figure gets and extra one in every few boxes that are ordered. And I agree with you on the putting figures at discount thing, if a figure like the Tito, or now the Heenan aren't selling, they really should discount them to help move them out. Or do some special promotion that if you buy a Heenan figure you get a second figure half off. |

That's the devil's bargain with modern retail - things are more "efficient" and everything is uniform from ordering to the store layout. But they do that at the sacrifice of using common sense to pivot where needed. Every Target in my area was backed up with Star Wars Black Rogue One figures 2-3 years after the movie came out. Even when they finally discounted them, the things didn't go away until they were down to $5-6. Had they slashed prices on that wave only 6-9 months after the figures releases, they probably would have lost out on a grant total of $75-100 off MSRP. And in doing so, they would have cleared the pegs and sold probably $5-7,000 in SWB figures in the following year or two. Instead the figures rotted, nothing new came in. But that's not the game for big box stores. I'm sure a manager probably has some discretion, but at the end of the day those figures weren't going anywhere until some corporate suit decided to clearance the line nationwide. |
