Was listening to the Colin Cowherd podcast and WWE's president was on.
The biggest quote from the podcast was this concerning going back on tour.
"Once we return, there’s no going back. So, once we return, it’s going to be twice a week or with NXT, three times a week.”
I can understand why they are ditching house shows because they are a money loser, but from a fan stand point, I had the most fun at house shows because the matches were always fun and good.

House shows were dying anyway.

They'll come back in time in some sort of way. WWE isn't going to pay people millions of dollars to work 1 day a week.

They will be back, but in much smaller doses, maybe one or two on a weekend but not every single weekend.

House shows were far more fun than any TV taping I’ve been to.

Hopefully they will do them for the overseas tours where the audience isn't overexposed to lots of weekly television tapings. In the UK, we get two SD and two Raws a year, so the house shows are always packed because the tours are the only time we see them live.

They were so unnecessary. I’m sure it’ll make all of the talent happy though

For those saying house shows are unnecessary, that's how guys get practice working in front of crowds.

If and when Raw and Smackdown go back on the road, maybe a schedule like this:
Friday: Smackdown Saturday: Raw/Smackdown Supershow Sunday: Raw/Smackdown Supershow or PPV Monday: Raw
Rotate talent on the Supershows week to week so that everyone gets some additional reps under their belt and gets a house show bonus. On the weeks that a superstar is not on the Supershow loop or on the PPV, they will have the same one show a week schedule that they have now.

It’s a reflection of demand. And demand is down, way down.

House shows have lost WWE money for years. Even live events were trending down pre-pandemic.
I think this will definitely make the locker room happy and should drastically cut down on injuries.

I think the FOX and NBC money has made it no longer necessary, and I think they were already decreasing before COVID. Really, if they were money losers, they should've ended long before any of the major deals they recently made. They could be fun, but you knew there wouldn't be any storyline progression or title changes at them. That was the lame part.

It's sad. There should be house shows, not like it use to be with them every single day. How are fans that are not in the more popular cities going to get a chance to see wrestling live? Not everyone can afford to go to LA or Chicago or New York when they are living in Pigeon Knuckle Arkansas or wherever.
It's an end of a great era for sure. Back in the day any organization lived or died by house show business.

Does this include overseas? Here in the UK house shows are always packed because we only see WWE live twice a year and it would be the same in other countries I imagine.
I would hate if they ended completely.

I would hate if they ended completely. I’d like to think they won’t end forever, but I can’t be sure. I guess I can imagine them ending in the US since everyone is overexposed and tapings happen all over the country, but I’d be shocked and dismayed if they stopped them everywhere. In the UK and England it seems like only certain places like Manchester, London, Edinburgh, Dublin, and a few other places even get tapings. I don’t think people from Notts or Derby would get a tv taping, and it’s like 2 hours to London. I feel like they still need to do international tours.

If it gives talent more time to spend with their family then so be it. Here in NZ we never got much of them, maybe five or six since the first time they came here in 2006.
