Okay everyone, let's say for some strange reason you were only allowed to keep five Wrestlemania shows from 1985 - 2004 in your collection for viewing for all your life, what five would you keep and why??
I would go these five...
Wrestlemania III - It pretty much was too big for an early Wrestlemania show. I mean, where do you go after Hogan vs. Andre for a main event at a Wrestlemania in the next few years?? The entire show represents the rock n wrestling era perfectly and was kind of the last remaining event of that era.
Wrestlemania V - The Mega Powers Explode! Such a fun Wrestlemania from a time frame where wrestling was starting to not be as popular as the boom it had in the mid 80s.
Wrestlemania X - The middle of the New Generation Era! We get two amazing matches with Bret vs. Owen and HBK vs. Razor, and that pretty much all you need!
Wrestlemania 13 - To me this was the early end of the New Generation Era and the slow burn into the Attitude Era. Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin may be the greatest match to happen at a Wrestlemania in the late 90s.
Wrestlemania 17 - the first Wrestlemania to feel like a Wrestlemania since Wrestlemania III. Had a big match atmosphere, a lot of solid feuds and matches, great title changes and just a huge main event with Austin vs. Rock.
So those would be the five I would keep if I had to pick just five to have in my collection.
Now your turn, everyone! What ones do you pick and why??

In no order
3, 5, 17, 18, 19
I have respect for both Hogan/Andre and Hogan/Savage but I wasn’t around for the early ones. 17-19 defines my childhood.

WM 8 - Bret/Piper and Savage/Flair (plus the hilariously botched ending of Hogan/Sid).
WM X - love this show from top to bottom. Owen/Bret and Shawn/Razor are classics, while Bret/Luger/Yoko had a year long build that culminated here. Macho/Crush was fun as well.
WM X7 - the best. Nothing else to say about this show.
WM XIX - #2 IMO. Card was stacked top to bottom.
WM XX - a lot of filler, but Christian/Jericho, Evolution/ Rock n Sock, Eddie/Angle, return of the Deadman, and Benoit/HHH/HBK make this a great show.

17, 19, 20 & I'll go 18 just cause I love that show more for the spectacle than the matches exactly. Same with Wrestlemania 2000 even tho it has better matches.

Thank you for actually giving a reason why you picked what Wrestlemania events to keep.
I guess when I said, "pick five and tell me why" just went over everyone else's head on here! Ha ha ha

Wrestlemania VIII - The beginning of Undertaker's streak, the establishing of Shawn Michaels as a singles star, Bret Hart and Roddy Piper in a classic and underrated bout, and if you treat Macho man vs Flair as the main event and stop watching after? Fantastic show.
Wrestlemania X - Wasn't a perfect show, but the matches that delivered REALLY delivered.
Wrestlemania XIV - This is one of the most nostalgic ones for me and the only biased pick of the list. Plus, it has two of my all time favorites in the main event and is the PPV that solidified the attitude era
Wrestlemania X7 - I don't think this one needs explanation
Wrestlemania 19 - This show is easily one of the most stacked wrestling programs in history when it comes to starpower. Truly an event of the past, present, and future.

III-While not great in terms of in ring action and a extremely bloated card had two of the most important matches in WWE history with Savage/Steamboat which was a five star banger that influenced a ton of fans that in turn would turn into the next generation of stars in pro wrestling. Then we had which still today might be the biggest match in pro wrestling history with Hogan/Andre and again arguably the biggest single moment in WWE history when Hogan slammed Andre.
X-While not a great card from top to bottom might be the only Wrestlemania in history to have two five star matches on the same card with the IC Ladder match and Bret/Owen.Plus also had what I believe was Randy Savage's last PPV match and maybe match period in WWE and the WWF fixed the screw up they did the year prior with Bret walking out as champion.
X7-From top to bottom most would say the greatest Mania of all time. Two all time classic bouts in TLC II & Austin/Rock II plus and extremely fun brawl between Triple H & Taker and also a McMahon Family feud that was extremely over the top and soap opera heavy.
XIX-Personally my favorite Wrestlemania with one of my top five favorite matches ever in Jericho/HBK and then three other great matches with Austin/Rock III which wasn't as good as X7 but we got "Hollywood" Rock and Austin's final match.McMahon/Hogan which is still one of my favorite brawls/fights in WWE history, the scene where Vince peaks his blood face from under the ring mat is one of my all time favorite moments and scenes. Then lastly a great WWE Title match and a dream bout between Angle & Lesnar.
XX-Great card from top to bottom with Rock N Sock Vs Evolution,Christian Vs. Jericho,Guerrero Vs. Angle, the return of the Undertaker and lastly what I view as one if not the best triple threat matches ever in Triple H/HBK/Benoit and without out question as odd and weird as if feels now watching back at the time the best ending in Wrestlemania history with Eddie & Benoit together in the ring holding up the two world titles.

Honestly, 5-9.
When I think of WrestleMania, I still think of the magic I felt as a kid. While there are tons of modern WrestleManias I really enjoyed, there's tons of great modern wrestling out there. When it comes to that generation of wrestling, nothing could top WrestleMania for the feeling it created and that nostalgia lives on.
The big question would be why 5-9 and not 3-7, 4-8 etc, especially how poorly 9 gets viewed now. 9 holds a special place for me because a) Caesars palace. I loved casinos as a kid. Yeah. I was weird. Caesars palace was one of my favorite video games, not joking. B) it was the first WrestleMania I watched "fresh" ie when it first came out on video tape.
I still watch all 5 of those manias at least once a year. Wm vi was the event that hooked me on wrestling for life. The second I hit play on that VHS and saw the intro for warrior and Hogan with the Stars, I was hooked.

20, 5, 4, 3, and 17.
20 is the first Mania I attended. 3-5 are just classic events I love, and 17 might be my overall favorite WM

I'll go with the era of that started me off in wrestling; IV, V, VI, VII, VIII. WM4 - Macho wins the belt . Demolition vs Strike Force was also good. WM5 - Mega Powers Explode! Warrior/Rude, Demolition/POP, Busters/Strike Force, some good stuff here. WM6 - Warrior vs Hogan - a really good main event. DiBiase/Jake, Rockers/Orient Express. WM7 - Warrior vs Savage - one of my favorite matches of all-time. Harts/Nasty Boys, Virgil/Piper/DiBiase storyline, Perfect/Bossman, Undertaker streak begins. WM8 - Savage vs Flair & Bret vs Piper - two of my favorite mania matches. Ultimate Warrior return was awesome. Even though Bret vs Austin is my favorite Mania match of all-time, there just wasn't anything else on that PPV for me to put it on the list.
