Voting closed. (photo courtesy of dcw1.) The time has come! Here we go! It's time to "raise up your fist," WWX Universe, as night one of the two-night extravaganza known as SlamFest has officially gotten underway, as the Night 1 Kickoff Show has begun. The theme song, Phoenix's 1901, and promotional trailer highlighting the huge Royal Rumble win of Monty Brown, for the show airs to get things started on the WWX Network. The trailer continues with the end of the first WWX Championship reign back in February. Then finally the "WWX Past .. Present .. Infinite" signature flashes on the screen and we get a shot of the live crowd with a prominent "Gore Machine" sign in the foreground, of course referencing the WWX Champion. From there, we enter the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida for the first time ever as our Kickoff Show panel of Abraham Washington, Stevie Ray, Bradshaw, Jerry "The King" Lawler and Peter Rosenberg are shown sitting in their Sunday (and Saturday) best attire as the pre-show for SlamFest Night 1 formally gets started.Lawler: "Can you believe they announced that the World Heavyweight Title match is going to be first tonight, as our biggest night of the year finally happens after 12 long years?" Rosenberg: "Come on, King, you know Ted clearly wants to start off the biggest show of the calendar year with a bang. That much is obvious to everyone." Bradshaw: "The rivalry between those two men extends as far back as 2007 and it could be just about to pick up here tonight." Ray: "Maybe, but let's talk about the final match of tonight's card when Lance Cade putting the Universal Championship on the line against the monster, Kane. You know he was originally scheduled to face the deadman himself before the introduction of the Grand Championship?" A video package detailing how Kane came to be the #1 contender tonight airs. Washington: "Kane becomes just the second man to challenge Lance Cade's reign as Universal Champion tonight, but let me pivot, if I may, to The Phenomenal Ones vs. Morgan & Devon match. If Morgan and Devon can win this match tonight, then they will earn a chance to challenge for the nWo Tag Team Championships sometime in the future." Rosenberg: "Morgan and Devon are an interesting case because they both have quite the tag team resume. Remember in 2010 when Morgan won the Slammy for tag team of the year all by himself, and we don't even have to mention Brother Devon's accolades here. But, we can't take anything away from The Phenomenal Ones either, they are in very much the same boat. AJ Styles was, of course, a member of the 2nd Xtreme Tag Team Champions at the tail end of 2011." Lawler: "The Phenomenal Ones remind me a lot of Kaz and Eric Young, but hopefully one of them doesn't suddenly believe they're a superhero and a completely separate individual. The intriguing thing about them is that McAllister is not used to teaming with someone who isn't the other half of The Highlanders, but the two have still managed to find some success despite that." Washington: "Let's talk about one of the grudge matches on the books for tonight. During a recent backstage interview, who was trying to discuss his pursuit of the WWX Championship, was hit with sweet chin music from out of nowhere. This led the first ever WWX Champion to his match tonight." Rosenberg: "Not to take anything from Jeff Jarrett, the guy is a former WWF Intercontinental Champion, but his career in the WWX thus far is...less than stellar. He was once pinned by Mitch in a Fatal 5 Way match, for example."
