So Punk is doing media rounds for a horror movie that he is in and one of them a reporter asked him who he would be interested in wrestling? He kinda didn’t give an answer from his interest standpoint but said his two biggest money draws are Kenny Omega and he said Triple H, which he then replied which is ironic cause he has no interest in Triple H because it’s been done. I didn’t see it that way but I guess the fans would buy into it because of the fact that the two have made no bones about not really liking each other.

The one we've all been waiting for.
Punk vs Jackson II

CM Punk's biggest fan is himself, so I am actually shocked he didn't say "CM Punk" for a dream match he'd like to still have.

Punk vs Bryan would be my pick for the biggest draw in WWE. Reigns as a heel would be another great one. Other than that, I don't think there's enough people who are big enough names to draw huge interest. Punk vs Lashley? lmao
I think Punk in WWE would be a huge initial draw, but then it'd lose its steam pretty quick 100% because of how he and the rest of the show was booked. Current CM Punk in current WWE would be bizarre.

The best thing Punk could do for himself now is do a Dominos Pizza commercial where he gets KO’d by a slice of pizza a la Hurricane Peter McNeely, who did just that after getting KO’d by Tyson in 96.
Personally I’m good on ever seeing him again. I never liked him anyway, but after being repeatedly mangled and embarrassed on UFC shows he shouldn’t be taken seriously as a competitor an any fighting context. Brock became UFC champion, Lashley has never lost. Even Hager is undefeated, making a win over any of them make the wrestler look better. On the other hand a loss to Punk, an MMA jobber, would make them look worse, and a win would look hollow considering that his last foray into fighting was humiliation after humiliation.
I realize that there are other ways to look at this, MMA and wrestling are not the same thing. I’m also biased in that I never found him impressive or deserving in any way even when he was on top. My own opinion is that there’s no need for him to ever return, nor would I want to see it.

The only person that yanks themselves off more over HOW GREAT THEY ARE is Matt Cardona; get them together and we can have a battle of the egos and find out once and for all...who really cares

Punk is in my top 5 of personal favorites, but I have no desire to see him come back. Mainly because I don’t think he actually wants to come back. He’s just always going to get the questions so he answers them. That said, Triple H makes sense as an answer as most fans believe he’s a major reason Punk left. And it’s not like Vince is wrestling again.

Punk/HHH would be a money match simply because of the bad blood between them (or atleast on Punk’s end).
Honestly the biggest money match in the WWE for him is Punk/AJ IMO. Yeah they worked in their early ROH days but never met after that. Let these two go at it for 30 minutes.

I feel like Punk has come around on a wrestling return ever since he’s become kinda a man without a home. He did UFC, didn’t really work out. He did Marvel comics, didn’t really work out. He’s getting to the point where he need wrestling if for anything else, to make money elsewhere. You always want 2 sides fighting over you, so when he goes to Hollywood and says “IDK, I might go wrestle, look at all the money they’re offering me!”...it’s increases your value.
Right now he’s got little value to anybody. I feel like if he DID come back to wrestling, he’d get lower offers than he would have a few years back. He’s starting to sound like one of those guys that’s discreetly begging for somebody to offer him money so he can wrestle again & nobody is calling.

It’s Punk vs Cena imo. Nothing in wrestling would be more compelling than Punk winning the title, and Cena facing him in the main event of Mania with Flair’s record on the line.

Especially if done right, like a double return. -Bring back Cena in January, Surprise entrant in the Rumble. Cena wins gets a title shot for Mania, hype it for months as his shot at beating Flairs record. -Have Punk enter the Elimination Chamber match as a surprise of all surprises entrant. He wins the match, now he’s champion -WrestleMania is John Cena going for his 17th World Championship win against the 1 guy that had his number in CM Punk. A story of numbers haha.

I’m not trying to pick a fight, I’m just curious because I don’t personally get that vibe from him. I don’t think the CM Punk people loved fits in modern day WWE but get why he would say Triple H because obviously there’s real past heat there.

He chose to walk away from the WWE and wrestling because he was scheduled to wrestle Triple H at Wrestlemania and he felt he deserved to be in the main event and be WWE Champion.... that pretty much sums up being a fan of yourself.

I mean, there was more to the story than that, lol. It was also 7 years ago at this point so I feel like to brand him that way for life is a little unreasonable. You’re obviously entitled to your opinion of course, just my 2 cents.

Phil gets his mania main event, Cena breaks Flair's record, both can retire after that (after Cena drops the title). I'd be so into that. Good job!

He’s starting to sound like one of those guys that’s discreetly begging for somebody to offer him money so he can wrestle again & nobody is calling. I think he’s had offers...the problem is he likely keeps turning them down due to “not offering him enough” based on his past interviews. He likely has a ridiculously large number in his head that he thinks he’s worth, while the WWE and AEW have a far less number in mind. He’s always bragged about being frugle and having all the money he’d ever need, but everyone likes that extra security of money consistently coming in. His UFC stint was a failure, and his other adventures haven’t been any more successful either. I won’t say it’s for certain, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him back for one more match one day. The only question is will he be willing to come to an agreement between what he believes he’s worth and what others believe he’s worth (I agree that the UFC stint hurt his marketability a bit, even when only considering his standing with wrestling fans).
