i'm a huge ramones fan now, and i've known their music for literally as long as i can remember. that being said, i wasn't what i'd call a fan when joey passed away. but i do remember knowing how big of a deal it was. its crazy that was 20 years ago

Just like Gene Simmons, underneath the character is just a nice Jewish boy.

One of the greatest front men ever. I've been VERY lucky to have seen the amazement that was a Ramones concert four times. I've also been lucky to see Joey and Dee Dee solo in NYC back in 1996. I got a handshake from Joey on stage and Dee Dee gave me his pick. A night I'll always remember.
When it comes to pure, American, rock and roll/punk rock, that is what the Ramones are. What they looked like was the worlds interpretation of what we all wear in the US. Blue jeans, sneakers, and leather jackets.
Joey had a voice that was made for music. Joey is what a rock star is suppose to be. 20 damn, long years. I listen to at least one Ramones song a day and can't remember a day that I haven't.
I am NOT excited for Pete Davidson to play Joey in the "I slept with Joey Ramone" movie. Even though Mickey Leigh thinks it's a great idea. Let's see what happens with that.

Complete legend. I've been on a non-stop Ramones kick for the better part of the past week. I wish I got the chance to see them before they started dying off. Tommy Ramone used to make a loop through this area with his bluegrass act Uncle Monk, so I was able to catch them a couple of times. A few years back I got to go see Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg, which is just Marky and some hired guns playing Ramones songs. Andrew WK was fronting them when I saw them, but nobody could stand up to Joey.
