Episode 1:

WWF Champion: Stone Cold Steve Austin

WWF Tag Team Champions: X-Pac/Masked Kane

Original Match: The Blue Blazer vs. Val Venis
New Match: Al Snow vs Aguila

Aguila: 1-0
Al Snow: 0-1

Aguila was only competing in the Light Heavyweight division up until this point, but I would use him to see what he can do against someone like Al Snow to open the show. Maybe he impresses enough and he can go beyond that.

Original Match: The Big Show vs. Test
New Match: Bob Backlund vs. Big Boss Man

Bob Backlund: 1-0
Big Boss Man: 0-1

Boss Man was making no friends on the 1st Smackdown. So, I figure why not have somebody cost him this match and a legend like Bob Backlund gets a win on the 1st ever episode of Smackdown.

Original Match: Droz vs. D-Lo Brown (ended in DQ)
New Match: Bull Buchanan vs. Bradshaw (Bradshaw wins via DQ after interference by Chyna which was just to introduce her involvement with the newly formed Corporate Ministry)

Original Match: X-Pac(c) & [Masked] Kane(c) vs. The New Age Outlaws (WWF Tag Team Championship Match)
VERDICT: Keep it.

I'm going to leave this and officially welcome X-Pac & Kane as my tag team champions in this timeline. Think of it as the titles were vacant and now I crown the 2 of them as my inaugural champions.

Original Match: Ken Shamrock vs. Bradshaw
New Match: Carl Ouellet vs. Christopher Daniels [Street Fight]

Christopher Daniels: 1-0
Carl Ouellet: 0-1

Daniels wins a no holds barred match on the 1st Smackdown. That would be one to look back on.

Original Match: Mankind vs. Big Boss Man
New Match: Droz vs. D-Lo Brown

Droz: 1-0
D-Lo Brown: 0-1

I like the idea of having this match on the first Smackdown, but I disliked its placing and I disliked ending it on a DQ. Instead Droz beats Brown clean. Let's see what that does for him, something a hell of a lot more than a DQ match.

Original Main Event: The Rock/Stone Cold vs. The Undertaker/Triple H
New Main Event: Triple H & The Undertaker vs. The Rock & Test

The Undertaker: 1-0
The Rock: 0-1

They were planning to have the match be thrown out anyway, so they could have just thrown Test in there, but I'm going to have a finish to the match. Test and The Rock were both in essence screwed by the, now, Corporate Ministry, so having them team up in the Main Event felt like it wrote itself. Building the shown around Taker seems to make sense to me. I realize in doing this that I left the WWF Champion off the card, but I personally think this also makes Undertaker the #1 contender to the title.

I realize last week the only other tag team match was the Main Event, so to me it only makes sense that the winners of that match be the most deserving of a tag title shot, being that I have no one else to pick from. Keep Undertaker leaving Triple H to do all of the work and try and learn something from him, and Triple H does it to earn them the tag titles and now they maybe respect each other enough to have a reign longer than 4 months.

Original Match: Al Snow (c) vs. The Big Boss Man [WWF Hardcore Championship Match]
New Match: Al Snow(c) vs. Aguila
Winner and NEW WWF Hardcore Champion: Aguila

Aguila: 2-0
Al Snow: 0-2

Aguila earned the right to challenge for this match (because I believe the Hardcore Title is not 24/7 yet) by virtue of defeating the champion last week. Aguila picks up the win again and becomes the new Hardcore Champion.

Original Match: The Road Dogg vs. Chris Jericho
New Match: Crash Holly vs. Gangrel

I've changed my mind. The story for this match is going to be Hardcore Holly not helping his cousin when he's put through a table by three men, causing Holly to search for a new tag team partner and enter tag team turmoil next week. Anyway, Holly wins this one via DQ after being attacked by The Brood and put through a table. I want to keep Road Dogg as a member of the NAO for now, and put his singles career on the back burner.

Original Match: Shane McMahon vs. Mankind
New Match: George "The Animal" Steele vs. D-Lo Brown

Brown: 1-1
Steele: 0-1

This is kind of a gratuitous legend match assuming that we know Steele is on his way out. We kind of just use him to put Brown over, not really expecting much out of him or for him to stick around for much longer.

Original Match: Evening Gown Match
New Match: WWF World Women's Championship Match
Ivory(c) vs. Tori

Ivory: 1-0
Tori: 0-1
Major eye roll here.

Main Event: WWF Championship Match *Special Guest Referee: Shawn Michaels
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin (c) vs. Test

Stone Cold: 1-0
Test: 0-1

I say keep the twist with Michaels at the end, but this time it affects Test instead of The Rock, but the champion still retains.

Mr. Ass comes out when Brisco accidentally takes out the referee and gives Brisco the fame-asser, dragging Sexay on top of him, and rolling the ref back in for the 3 count. Mr. Ass is clearly firmly against the McMahon-Helmsley Faction now.

Sexay: 1-0
Brisco: 0-1

Original Match: Ring Announcer Tuxedo Match Finkel vs. Chimel
VERDICT: I mean I want to get rid of this match, but it's too glorious. I still can't believe this actually happened.

Original Match: WWF Title Match Triple H (c) vs. Gillberg
New Match: WWF Championship Match Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) vs. Gillberg

I like the idea of Shane giving the Light Heavyweight Champion a WWF Title Match even if it was as a joke, and everyone originally thought the bald headed S.O.B. was going to be Austin so this would actually be all too perfect. Of course Steve retains.

Stone Cold: 2-0
Gillberg: 0-1

Original Match: WWF Championship #1 Contender's Match The Rock vs. Mankind
New Match: The Undertaker vs. Triple H

I also like the idea of making the tag team champions face each other to potentially give one of them a title match, but Test and The Rock come out and attack both of them causing the match to be tossed.

Original Match: Ken Shamrock vs. Val Venis
New Match: Al Snow vs. Christopher Daniels

Daniels is still on the roster, so I say use him on Smackdown again. This time Al Snow proves why he's chasing the Hardcore Title as he defeats a man whose only history so far is in a Street Fight, and Snow stops Daniels from looking too good and stops himself from being on a losing streak despite being a member of the J.O.B. Squad.

Al Snow: 1-2
Daniels: 1-1

Original Match: WWF Tag Team Turmoil Match (Mideon & Viscera vs. Stevie Richards/The Blue Meanie vs. Droz/Prince Albert vs. Christian/Edge vs. The Acolytes vs. The Hardyz vs. The Hollys)
New Match: The New Age Outlaws vs. The Acolytes vs. The Rock & Test vs. The Mean Street Posse (Joey Abs/Pete Gas) vs. Ken Shamrock & Mark Henry vs. The Dudley Boyz (Bubba & D-Von) vs. Bull Buchanan & Crash Holly

I wanted to flesh out the tag team division and I think I may have overlooked some people last week, so throwing them in this match is my attempt at making up for it. The Final 2 are Buchanan & Holly and The New Age Outlaws, but Hardcore Holly storms down to the ring and attacks everybody causing the referee to toss this match up too.

Original Match: WWF Tag Team Championship Match Triple H/Shane vs. Rock n Mankind
New Match: WWF Tag Team Championship Match The Undertaker (c) & Triple H (c) vs. X-Pac & [Masked] Kane

The former champions finally get their rematch, but Triple H throws X-Pac over the announcer's desk and the referee is distracted checking on him. The Rock and Test come out again, but this time they target Kane with a double team assault before the referee slides back in and counts the pinfall by Triple H. The Rock & Test just screwed the former champions!

Triple H: 2-0
Kane: 0-1
