Has it been proven that he actually assaulted someone? The last I heard her story wasn't lining up. I haven't been paying attention to the situation. She is still suing him. Her booking was definitely pulled because of him. It's hard to truly prove a rape/sexual assault unless there is physical evidence. It's a lot of he said she said. Plus it's a bit strange that if the story wasn't true why WWE would drop his first name so people wouldn't see the lawsuit if they searched him. He's also said if it wasn't for weed he'd beat his wife and kids so it definitely seems he has the aggression in him. I dont know the whole situation, nor do I care to look it up but if the only evidence we have is he said/she said then its unfair to consider him guilty or to punish him for something there's no proof of. His first name wasnt dropped because the lawsuits either. Antonio Cesaro, Buddy Murphy, Alexander Rusev, Adrian Neville, Luke Harper, Erik Rowan have all had their first names dropped by WWE as well as countless others who lost their last names.

Lots of the Speaking Out allegations were he said she said and those guys still got fired. Riddle had one of the more serious allegations against him and nothing. It really seems like they just fired the ones they didn't care about losing and nothing happened to the others. Except it was reported that's why his name was dropped. They do randomly drop names but those guys also aren't part of lawsuits that the company wants to keep under wraps. It's great plausible deniability on that front though.

no. I see him being gone in less than a year. I dont get him at all, and he irritates the hell out of me.

Maybe not Austin/Rock level, but like, pretty big. Maybe Orton-level, but as a lifetime face. Do you think Riddle could be huge in coming years? Currently, there's a better chance that he's future endeavored in a couple of years. His "Bro" gimmick isn't really a gimmick, it's a minor character trait being portrayed as substantial. He served as hamburger for Lashley on the RAW after Mania, so there's a good sign that he's far away from a main event push. The sad aspect of this is that he has a good look and a legitimate background. He should have been easy to sell as a serious shooter, but he's a goofy curtain-jerker right now. Unless he's repackaged, there's no hope for him to move up the card.

In a world where guys like Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura and Aleister Black can barely scrape the upper midcard, I doubt it. We're essentially in the Hulkamania era all over again, where your Mr Perfects aren't going anywhere near your world champion.

I'm sure I read the whole Orton angle came about because Randy himself wanted to work with him. Could do worse than have someone of his stature on board.

No, WWE isn't in the business of making stars. And that's just in the past 3-5 years. Becky: VKM didn't think she was a big enough star so he shoehorned Charlotte into her WrestleMania main event. Kofi: Had a great title match, a forgettable title reign, and was unceremoniously fed to Lesnar. Hasn't done anything since. Roman: It took 4 years for them to finally figure out how to naturally book the guy. Drew: After 12 years the guy had his shot, but because of Covid we don't know if he was a draw or not. With the ratings dropping, I'd say not. It's possible for Riddle to become a main event guy, but not a star. WWE is the star, not any of the wrestlers.

I could definitely see him being a huge star. His look is so unique, his style is so unique, and he was mega-star material in NXT. His matches with Adam Cole, Finn Balor, Tim Thatcher, and his tag matches with Pete Dunne. Then, he's had some awesome main roster matches against AJ Styles, Lashley and Sheamus.
If you keep him riding a scooter backstage and stumbling over dumpster fire promos, it could teach the casual fans not to become invested in him as a serious contender.

Probably not. His current gimmick is a realistic depiction of how the WWE values Matt Riddle.
He should be having awesome matches and being billed as a legit danger in the ring and WWE should reference and capitalize on his legit MMA background and the fact that he's probably the toughest SOB in WWE now that Brock Lesnar is gone.....instead he's a doofus who peddles around on a little scooter and has birds flying out of his ass.
WWE portrays him as a joke, so that's exactly what they value him as. A joke. You don't see birds flying out of Roman Reigns ass.

Roman is still pretty much booked the same way he always has. But now you’re supposed to hate it

Riddle could easily be WWE Champion eventually, but do I think he will be a huge name?? No.
Nobody in the WWE anymore is a huge name.
There hasn't been a huge name in the WWE since John Cena.
The WWE is just an indy fed now with money behind it. Triple H wants to sign little guys to have 20 minute matches with a lot of high spots who all look the same and do the same moves.
Where as years ago, you had so many unique stars who stood out and ended up crossing over into the media entertainment so even non-wrestling fans knew who these wrestlers were.

He could, unless Randy Orton tries to ruin him with his fake injury. Trying to bury him like he did with Mr. Kennedy it’s a shame, The whole Kennedy thing was great.

It's so hard to predict now. Fifteen years ago, you could point at any of the lads and say "he's going to be next" and you'd more likely than not be absolutely spot on.
In 2021, with the crazy way they've been doing things and how they've handled talent (and that what determines star-quality has obviously changed in definition somewhere backstage with the advent of different revenue streams and objectives for WWE), I honestly don't know where most wrestlers will be in six months, never mind six years.
