I don't see a lot of foam core constructions in custom figure arenas, but what I've seen done in the DND/TTRPG space is incredible. I'm currently just getting started in building my tron/stage, and I think there is a ton of potential. One challenge I'm seeing is that in the DND terrain builds I've seen, the scale is much smaller than building for 6 inch figures. I'm not sure if that makes things easier or harder, because I've never worked with foam core before.
I have the wicked cool toys paper craft stage, but it was always too flimsy for my liking. I'll post an update when it's all done and finished, but for now, I'm curious if anyone else has worked with foam core in constructing a custom arena before! I'd love to see some of your work!

Hi! I’ve been working on D&D/40K terrain crafting for fun for months and I can attest to using foamcore and cardstock for building stages.
Make sure you have a box cutter, fresh blades and go slow with your cuts.
The issue is just using a lot more glue and sometimes learning new joints you can cut into the foam so it’s locked together.

There has been a surprising learning curve to working with foam core for sure. I have a bunch of new tools I never thought I'd have hahah. It's coming along nicely though! Slowly, but nicely.
