I think he would have stayed in the mid card and had solid feuds with people on their way up. A Jericho/Jarrett feud could have been fun and hilarious with him playing a great foil to a comedic face Jericho...Jericho could have so much fun at his expense. That's the role I see him in...jobber to the rising stars. Would definitely have been used to get Jericho over.

I made a similar thread a few year back. I’m a huge Double J fan and think far too many people drink the WWE Kool Aid when talking about Jeff. Guy was always solid in the ring and got reactions from the fans. By the time he left in late-1999, he was the second most over heel in the WWF after HHH (Taker was on the shelf and even before he got hurt, Jarrett was getting bigger pops with his “Dont Piss Me Off” and women-beating gimmick). And for anyone who craps on his 2000 WCW run, blame Russo for the booking but Jeff was one of the few reasons to tune into Nitro. Guy was drawing major heel heat at the time and played a great cowardly heel.
I think he would have had a chance in 2000 with Austin on the shelf. Likely doesn’t win the WWF Title due to HHH being pushed hard, but I can see him being elevated as they needed some top heels. Big Show flopped hard after he turned heel, and guys like Kurt and Benoit were still being built up. I see Jarrett taking Benoits role in 2000 where he gets a few title shots, maybe even a few “dusty” wins, but eventually moves back to the IC Title Scene.
I think it would have been harder for Jeff as the years went on to stay in the main event with Kurt, Jericho, and the Radicalz moving up the card, but he would have remained high in the card. And if Jeff is around post-brand split, I can see him getting a WWF Title run around 2004, similar to JBL.

As evil as Vince McMahon seems, him bringing back Jarrett two times after he bolted from WWF shows that he, Vince, has a soft side. No way would I ever bring Jarrett after leaving WWF high and dry in mid 1995 and then again in early 1996. And even after late 1999, I would never have brought him back for a Hall of Fame spot. Obviously Vince probably does so knowing that these guys are coming back with their tail between their legs hoping for a job but Jarrett contributed very little to WWF and whether he's brought back or not means nothing in the grand scheme of WWF/WWE success. I guess whatever Jerry Jarrett did for WWF during the steroid trial meant something and that's probably why Vince has a loyalty to him. I can't see anyone, even the S.D. Jones of Wrestlemania 12 Hunter Heart Helmsley wanting to work with Jeff Jarrett. He literally had no "IT" factor-nothing that draws a fan to the arena to watch him, buy merchandise, root for him to win or hate him so much they root for him to lose. The guy was arguably the #2 heel in the company when he left in 1999. He was getting major heel heat for his woman-beating gimmick and his slogan “Dont Piss Me Off” was selling shirts. Guy was always solid in the ring and one of Vince’s trusted workers when he needed a good “WWF-Style” match (similar to X-Pac). To say he had nothing that drew fans is a big stretch. And I can’t blame him for jumping ship so much. As an employee (or contractor in this situation), you want to go to where you will make the most money. Employers look after themselves and their businesses first and foremost, so why can’t performers do this as well? Jeff was doing what every other performer should have been doing (Nash and Hall had a similar sentiment when they jumped to WCW for more money/the only difference is they were on a long time contract which is why we didn’t see them jumping as much as Jeff).
