As far as I can tell, the series 1 rare Cody never had a single figure make it to retail. Obviously there is the possibility some did and the people who bought them never posted anything on any website, but in 2021 that seems very unlikely. Even the Jericho with twice as many pieces made only had a handful of reports of being found, mostly along the east coast

The figures (aside from those gifted to people such as Cody himself) were inserted into random cases and shipped out. It’s not impossible to believe that Ringside received most or all of these by pure chance. however, there have been reports that the Rares and Chases are removed from international cases which suggests that they have control over where they end up

I think the 1 of 500 Darby Allin is the same situation. Not one ever even made it for sale online which in today's market is impossible if they are out there

Not one ever even made it for sale online which in today's market is impossible if they are out there Someone on here had a friend in Cali I think that found the 1/500 Darby and theres one on eBay right now I don’t think it’s a conspiracy to say that the Cody was mostly given to friends and family at AEW and Jazwares, Cody got one, Zack & Curt got one each, Jeremy and Magic have them Im pretty sure. And the ones that weren’t given out probably went to RSC in their shipments. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with saying that. My point is simply that these are marketed as chases but none got to any stores. And I’m saying this about the 1/500 Cody only, because the rest have been found so far, and RSC sent out a ton of the series 4 chases to people in addition to the number now being much larger starting with 5.

Absolutely insane for a new figure.

Absolutely insane for a new figure. I only started seeing Darbys on eBay literally yesterday. I don’t think the cases with them got distributed out somehow. There weren’t many Rihos until recently either but now plenty have been found

Shouldn’t there still be a lot of Series 1 figures still sitting around somewhere since very few have ever made it to the stores. Almost no Brandi figures have made it out to stores yet.

The fact that there’s people bidding $1,800 for a chase Darby allin is complete insanity, why on earth would anyone be willing to spend that much on a freaking action figure.

At this point I'm not sure if it matters where they wound up. This chase structure is fundamentally broken. It doesn't help collectors, it doesn't help AEW, I'm not sure it does anything positive for the line. Just an endlessly terrible, ancient way to distribute toys.
