If I’m Mark Davis I don’t allow it. I don’t let anything other than the Raiders week 1 game be the first live crowd there. I personally think the Raiders and their fans deserve that. I bet lots of new stadiums don’t have their first event be for the sports team it’s built for. I doubt anyone going to the game week 1 will be like “I wish they didn’t have SummerSlam and all these other concerts take place before us!” I totally would pissed if I lived close to Vegas. Especially seeing even Davis himself refused to go to a home game last year because the fans couldn’t. So if I was Davis I personally wouldn’t want concerts or other events building stages and other structures on my new field until my players got to open it to a stadium filled with our fans first. Not sure he wants that many people there when they take an L to the Ravens to start the season They won’t be losing week 1 to the Ravens.

Cena-Roman in this setting would be enough to get me to watch Summerfest. Wonder who they major guest host they have is. The SummerSlam commercial during Smackdown tonight was using a Cardi B song. So combine that and all the Twitter stuff from earlier this year, and it would make sense that it would be Cardi.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they move it now, I feel like the original plan to announce it today included all the details, but the fight def put a wrench in those plans.

Well apparently he doesn’t care if football isn’t the very first thing with fans if there are already concerts scheduled there in July. It has nothing to do with football.

I’m just saying if that if was Davis I wouldn’t host anything on that field until my team opens it to fans in the stands. I know financially that makes no sense, but still in my heart that’s how I would feel if I was the owner.

For purely selfish reasons, I’m all for Summerslam on a Saturday. It means being able to watch it Sunday my time.
Not really into Cardi B hosting it. Her music is the audio version of Covid.

I read last night that there’s like 5 city options with one being Nashville. If Summerslam is 20 minutes from my house, consider me there.

Mark Davis doesn’t own the stadium all to himself. He’s 1 of the 5+ that own rights to the stadium. A big way to help pay for the stadium was for those that want Season tickets have to buy a PSL. (personal seat license) Season ticket holders get 1st rights on non football events before the tickets go on sale for the public. (Business before pleasure or personal.) So no way was it ever going to be no events before football.
Besides most blue collar Raider fans won’t be going to games & have been crying about season ticket holders for selling the tickets at high prices. They expected to be the same or close to when they were in Oakland. Welcome to having a PSL folks.

Lashley vs Brock and Reigns vs Cena are about as big as it gets. If those are indeed the main events then it’s gonna be a big big show!
