I was really hoping on the recent A&E documentary it would finally be revealed why Vince never brought back Randy Savage after he left in 94 and after they bought WCW in 2001. I’m watching the dvd now WWE released shortly after his death and they said we’ll never know. Why is that? Will Vince never reveal that while he’s alive? I really believe it was the 2003 video where Savage said he’d beat up Triple H and steal his girl Stephanie McMahon.
Btw I can’t believe it’s been 10 years already since he died. RIP Randy Savage.

I never believed any of that stuff with Steph. I always looked at it as Vince just being so upset that Randy jumped ship like he did when he thought he'd be a WWF lifer.Cant blame em as he was definitely frustrated with not being in the ring. You can tell here when he makes the announcement on Raw that he's upset over the whole situation.
Just a shame we never got that reconciliation between the two sides for him to return for a final match/proper farewell.

It was Savage taking the Slim Jim contract to WCW. That was money out of Vince's pocket during a lean time. It definitely cut McMahon, and was seen as a complete betrayal.
All of the Steph rumors over the years were asinine, conspiracy theorists trying to come up with something salacious.

Vince made the mistake of taking him out of the ring then held a grudge when it blew back in his face. Time was likely to heal the wounds but I guess Randy didn't wanna do business with him again. As history shows, Vince usually is one to bury the hatchet.

Ahhh yes, the same show where apparently Randy Savage debuted on WCW Nitro and Jerry Lawler had to take Savage's place.... so Lawler always says.
Impressive since this was 1994, Nitro was a year away from starting, and Savage debuted on WCW Saturday Night.
So nice try, King, get your facts straight before you attempt to bury someone.

Which is odd too, because on the old Raw episodes from 1995, I remember Diesel and Bam Bam Bigelow were doing the Slim Jim commercials. So I am guessing once that the WWF contract expired they went to WCW in 1996 to have Savage do them again.

And Vince made up with PLENTY of guys who he had bigger beef with because he knew they could make eachother money. I think the most logical answer is it was Hogan in Vince's ear. As soon as Hogan goes to TNA Randy starts to get acknowledged by the WWE (figures, games) but he died before a proper reconciliation could take place.

Don’t know how true this is, but supposedly Vince called Savage in 2010 to be inducted into the hall of fame, but Randy said only if Lanny and his dad would be inducted too. Vince didn’t like the idea so Savage didn’t go for it.

There are plenty of folks who say Hogan had ZERO influence over McMahon in the 00s. Blaming him for Savages absence is confusing as hell to me.
TONS of Vinces top guys complained to him in person about bringing the nWo in & he still did it. If there was money to be made & Vince liked the idea? He would have been brought back.
Something happened between them after he left.

I'm not saying I believe the Macho/Steph rumour. But rumours don't take on a life of their own this much if there isn't some truth to it.

I don’t buy the Savage/Steph rumors.
I think in the 90s, Vince thought he was going to be a WWF lifer and he jumped ship to their biggest competitor and took the Slim Jim contract with him. But I don’t think a Savage return was ever off the table as I believe Savage said he had brief talks with them on a return in 2000.
Jump to 2002, and I think Hogan’s beef with Randy at the time prevented a potential return. Hogan was always a bigger star than Randy, and if Hogan didn’t want Randy back, I can see Vince agreeing to this. Then Hogan goes to TNA in 2010 and Savage is being mentioned again by the WWF and promotional work for their video game. No coincidence there.

If the rumors had any truth to them Savage would have been dead or in jail not fired from the wwe. Vince would have killed him or called the police on Savage for rape. No father would allow that to happen. Especially to their underaged daughter. So there’s no truth to the rumors.
As for the comments made to Triple H. That’s just trash talk for Triple H calling him a dinosaur. So his replay was basically he’s more of a man than Triple H who could steal his wife.

Vince is a guy who proposed an incest angle with his daughter so who really knows how he would feel? I think ultimately it comes down to Vince being heart broken and the same situation happened with Andre. Vince loved Andre but had no more use for him and so Andre's last appearance was for a WCW event. Andre just happened to not live long enough for Vince to hold a long term grudge. Vince may even hold an internal resentment against himself for not letting Randy wrestle and making Randy leave.
There are a few people that I think Vince loved from his boom 1980s/90s era and they were Bret, Andre, Perfect, Roddy and Randy. Those were his Blassie's or Moolah's who he would always try to make a spot for but unlike the last two, most of the others were still young and capable of wrestling and WCW was a more financially better option so four of them left Vince.

The underage aspect is greatly exaggerated, in fairness. If true, Stephanie would have been 18 in 1994.

So if that’s to be believed then that’s considered rape.
