Watching this biography on Ultimate Warrior and the talking heads are saying that Warrior slamming Andre is what put him in the same category as Hogan. But I don’t recall him ever slamming him on TV and the footage they aired were from house shows. Did Warrior ever slam Andre on TV? If not, then why are they acting as if this was a thing that elevated him to the next level? The rule has always been, and especially during that time, is that if it didn’t happen on TV then it didn’t happen.

Never on National TV...Andre was only slammed (post heel turn) at Mania III & IV by Hogan, MSG & Maple Leaf Gardens live events by Warrior in '89

I didn’t think so. Working with Andre really didn’t do anything for him. His IC feud with Rude did more than Andre and they completely ignored that. It proved he could work a long term storyline and put on longer entertaining matches when paired with the right opponent.

Warrior's body slam on Andre looked better than Hogan's body slam on Andre. I felt Warrior legit actually slammed Andre, where as Hogan kind of just picked him up, turned him a bit and slammed him down.

It was on the Ultimate Warrior VHS, I was blown away when I saw it as a kid and I am in the club that thinks Warriors slam on Andre was way better than Hogan's

I thought Warrior’s slamming of Andre was more impressive than Hogan’s as well.

I didn’t think so. Working with Andre really didn’t do anything for him. His IC feud with Rude did more than Andre and they completely ignored that. It proved he could work a long term storyline and put on longer entertaining matches when paired with the right opponent. Agreed, they glossed over both of his best feuds in the company (Rude in 89 and Savage in 90/91) and two of his best matches (w/ Rude at Summer Slam 89 and Savage at WM7) as well. Also, it always seems odd that they say that Warrior was supposed to replace Hogan after WM6 and be the top guy, and that his poor run as champion is the reason that they decided to put the belt back on Hogan at WM7. But if you listen to a number of shoot interviews, it seems that the decision was already made in the summer of 1990 that Hogan and Sarge were going to main event WM7. That was only 4 months into Warrior's championship reign. It seems more likely that Hogan was getting time off to make a movie, Vince wanted to see if Warrior could be the next guy, but the plan was always to put the belt back on Hogan. Had Warrior exceeded expectations and drew better than Hogan, then Vince would have gone with Warrior. But it sounds more like they were testing the waters to see if someone could replace Hogan than actually replacing Hogan at the time.

I thought Warrior’s slamming of Andre was more impressive than Hogan’s as well. It was, especially the one in MSG. Warrior looked like he was slamming someone the size of Rick Rude, instead of Andre, he completely got Andre up and over. Hogan's was better than Luger's hip-block (or toss) of Yokozuna, though. But, we also have to give Hogan some credit, he did slam Andre after wrestling him for 10-12 minutes. Whereas Warrior's slam of Andre was at the beginning of a very short match.

It always confused me as a kid why it was called that.

I mean, Hogan did tear his lat lifting Andre, or at least reportedly. that's a damn good reason to not be able to really slam Andre well.

Looking at that video I would rank the best ones like this... Hansen Warrior MSG Inoki’s 1st on the video Hogan’s (Hamburg PA) Warrior MLG Hogan WMIII The rest on the video were very sloppy drops.

I'm also in the Warrior slammed Andre better than Hogan boat Warrior's slam did look better (at least compared to the WM3 one), but to be fair to Hogan, he looked exhausted when he went for his slam at WM3.

I dunno, Kamala did the full scoop there better than most I don’t know it looked like Andre put himself into the position to be slammed. It looked like he put his leg over Kamala’s shoulder during the scoop making it not look natural. At least that what it looked like to me.
