I remember how odd it seemed when Jakks produced these but I totally understood why they did it. Now it’s 20ish years later and there is still demand for both (Original LJN and Jakks). I remember seeing the Jakks LJN’s warming pegs and I’m hoping that won’t be the case for the AEW version (even though I won’t be collecting them).
The buzz surrounding these has been mixed from the comments I’ve read all over social media and various forums. I am a little surprised they haven’t tried to go the Hasbro style route but maybe we will see that on the future. Might be for the best right now as the market is about to get REAL crowded.

Why would someone buy a solid brick when they can buy the fully articulated version

I don’t think they’ll be that bad. They seem like they’ll only be in every other wave which also is every other month. So I really it means they’ll only hit shelves one time every 4 months.

If they're in every other wave, I think they'll sell fine if they stick to the big names.

Zero interest here, but I can understand it may appeal to a portion of the figure collector market.

Most exciting thing off the line. But it doesn't matter, because I will not ever find in store. And not paying online prices for 20 dollar figures.

The AEW audience skews younger than WWE's and this is a tribute to a figure line that ended in 1989. I can't imagine the audience for these being terribly broad but at least they're limited enough in scope that they probably won't be damaging.

You could also say alot if the aew crowd are hipsters. So these might do pretty well.

As someone who grew up with ljns and prefer them to hasbros (collected all those too) im super excited about them. My only concern is how big they will be. I was pumped for the jakks classic ones and then they were to small and were more like the san fran toymaker wcw figures. I hope these are to scale like the ljn bucks that came out a few yrs ago

If they are not in scale with classic WWF LJN’s, it isn’t worth doing.

Will the young bucks LJN style figures fit in with these I wonder?
Jakks attempts at the LJN style in the classic collection well far wide of the mark imo

I have zero interest in them. But I think they'll sell perfectly fine at retail. It's not like the product has exactly been abundantly available to begin with, so I don't see them clogging up the pegs. But they will sell slower than the mail line. I just can't see myself spending $20 on LJN or Hasbro styled retro figures. If they were at a lower price point, sure. But they're just not worth it to me, unless they do something like a retro Sting or Brain Busters in LJN style.

If they are sparse in terms of production, they will sell through everyone quickly. I am not going to buy any, but there is a small market that will. Also, it could take off with kids and lead to more potential. You never know with toys, the top toy last year was a flamingo on the toilet taking a crap. Playdoh countered with a TRex that eats playdoh and craps it out.

You could also say alot if the aew crowd are hipsters. So these might do pretty well. Maybe, but this feels like something that appeals more to the people wrestling in AEW than the people watching AEW. Like how the Elite keeps talking about doing a No Mercy-ish video game. I don't think most of the AEW audience is interested in retro wrestling merchandise anywhere near as much as the people running the show.

Wrestling games have been pretty trash for a long time so if it takes being No Mercy to make a good one then whatever, I’d prefer something more like Here Comes the Pain tho

I am old enough to remember LJN figures, which is precisely why I have no interest in them.
