Hey y’all, not sure if this is the right place to put this, if not mods please move it. But I’m considering selling my whole collection. Not sure if there’s a logistical way of doing this, I have over 400 mattel figures. Has anyone seen people sell their entire lot on places like ebay or mercari? Or is it more simple to just sell everything individually? Most of my figures are loose and I see the value on some of them are really high. just looking for some advice
Thanks.

If you piece out you’ll get more but it also takes a lot longer So it depends what’s more important. If your selling because you need to make space ASAP bulk lot will go quicker but you’ll be leaving cash on the table. Maybe piece out the more expensive than nes and sell others as a lot?

If you do bulk expect to get less and that your target market is probably going to be resellers who buy in bulk to flip. 400 figs at say $10 a piece for $4000 is too much for most resellers.

I’ve sold my collection many times over and your best bet is to sell each figure individually. As for figures that value $20 or less you are better selling them in lots of 2 and 3.

Just sold my nxt collection on mercari.
With 400 figures, I’d sell in four 100 figure lots.

Sell the big hitters separately. Sell tag teams or factions together, then everything else in smaller lots - mixing big name, mid card & lesser known names evenly.

If you want to make the most money, break the set apart. As said above, sell the big hitters individually and pair up matching tag teams or factions.
It's up to you if you want to post the lesser figures as lots or individually. Maybe make sets of similar themed figures or superstars, or figures from a certain era all together.
The biggest money maker of them all would be to sell all the figures individually. But that would likely be a huge hassle for you with that many.
Whatever you do, make sure you take a bunch of photos and price them competitively. Know what you have, but don't aim to make a mint on a figure that's worth pennies.
You'll be fine.

Find a toy show in your area and get a table and sell them like that. No worry about EBay fees, taxes or people saying they didn’t receive the figure. Obviously you won’t sell them all in one shot, but WWE figs sell really well at toy shows. The older they are the quicker they will sell, as many sellers have the newer ones. It’s the older ones that are harder to find. Goes without saying, but they have to be Elite style. Basics don’t sell unless it’s just a young kid looking for cheap figure for a $1.

If I were you I would hold off on selling your favorites and just start by selling off the figures you really don’t care about. Put your favorites in a box or something and put them out of sight. And after about 8 months to a year if you don’t miss seeing your favorites on display then I would start selling those. Too many times I have read here someone selling off their collection only to miss it and then start rebuilding it up again. So I would just make sure you truly won’t miss it and want to rebuild before I sold it all off.

I sold about 175 ish loose marvel legends on ebay about 2 years ago for $2100. I could have held out for more but the offer came in less than 5 minutes after I put the lot up. So ebay IS your best bet, it's just a sucky bet.

Over the last year I’ve sold off part of my collection (mostly impulse buys from a few years back) and it took me most of the year to sell around 100 but I think it was worth it doing it individually.

Group up figures to likely sell for low with others that might sell well. Sell the popular ones by themselves.
The big question is, will you regret selling your collection?
There have been plenty of collectors on here who regretted selling their collection. Will you be one of them.

Don't sell, with wwe possibly being sold, this could be the end of wrestling action figures 😂

Individually is the best way to go bit there are some figures that should be grouped together such as tag teams or items to make a full group. I've sold many sets of tag teams and u get more selling the set than breaking them up. Singles stars though definitely sell individually. Kind of a similar logic when u sell funko or or items. Some thing sell easier in a large lot to move out because people will buy the lot to get the one or two difficult to find pieces. If u list all the common pieces separately u could be sitting on them a long time or sell them for pennies just to move them out.

Mate, have a good think about it. If they are loose you can store them away easily and dwell on the decision. Selling them individually takes long but if you really want to make a clean cut from them all and dont really need the money then sell them in bulk. Sometimes its a good thing if you want to clear out to just sell everything so I know where you are coming from. Ive sold some figures from my collection only to go back and buy them later on lol.

I can't imagine anyone buying WWE who would want to shut down the lucrative merchandising deals.
I suppose it depends why you're selling. I often have to talk the wife out of selling her entire collections, because it's an impulse born of stress. Personally I love curating my collections, selling off my least favourite pieces one by one. I find eBay simple and fun and a good way to get most/all of my money back.
