Judging any of these lines (Zombie, Chella, Rush, etc.) by playability is nonsensical IMO. All of them, even the ones that look more "toy-like" are clearly supposed to be collector pieces, not literal toys. Not saying kids can't play with them, or that some won't hold up better than others if they do, but judging them as such as as off the mark as treating Mattel Elites as Hot Toys for example. It's completely outside the realm of what they're supposed to be. I wouldn't say they're all clearly supposed to be collectors pieces intended for display only, as that's not really been made clear. CWF have stated pretty categorically that their figures are intended for play. Hasbro, first and foremost were not intended to be displayed, they were intended for play. You can obviously do either, if you choose, bit to say they they're clearly intended to be displayed isn't exactly true. Any company that's making figures in a style of a 30+ year old (and strictly from a technical standpoint, very "far behind") action figure brand is making a nostalgic product aimed primarily at older collectors who remember Hasbro nostalgically. That's pretty blatant. As for CWF, they have absolutely pushed the collector angle. In their post about their ring they wrote "So you can put the Ring in your display case (maybe detolf). It will fit perfect because we minimized the ring a little bit on the sides." Again, not saying the figures "can't" be played with, but none of these companies are releasing them primarily as toys first.

Again, not saying the figures "can't" be played with, but none of these companies are releasing them primarily as toys first. I don't fully disagree with you on this. They're not marketed as being specifically for adult collectors, though. If it was absolutely blatant, then we wouldn't be debating it here. CWF in the Bone Crunching podcast said that these are intended for play, not display, Sebastian explains that his kids play with the retros, as I'm sure many kids will do. WWE Mattel retros are very much a nod to adult collectors and children alike. It can be both, especially with Chella, you can display or you can play... Whereas ZST's figures are primarily for display and don't seem to hold up to actual play. These figures are a mix old and new, a nod to the nostalgia of older collectors, definitely, but not exclusively an older collector's item. You can see a lot of retro style figures coming out, Marvel are doing it now. It's aimed at both young and old alike, imo.

Exactly, they're toys, at the end of the day that's what they are. People can do whatever they like with them, but to act like they're supposed to be intended to sit on a shelf is missing the point of what a toy is versus what a sculpture or a statue is. The Mattel retros have action features for a reason. The latest independent retros don't have actions due to the budget, but if they did, the action feature wouldn't be there for display purposes. Generally speaking if toys in a retro style won’t hold up to play they usually specifically say Example: top left of the reaction figure i just grabbed “adult collectable - not a toy” and “ages 14+” I point out it’s a reaction figure because the response will come “it’s a retro style figure, what kid will want to play with it, no articulation blah blah” well the same applies to the retro styles 5 points of articulation reaction figs The new Marvel retros are a good example as well. Kids will enjoy them as much as adults, imo. The same with WWE MotU and the WWE superstars line. Sure they're going to pack a nostalgia kick for older collectors, but they also can appeal to younger people. Kids aren't all expectant on highly articulated figures. They can and will play with anything, they have imaginations. The figures we see now with 300 points of articulation and additional heads and hands that cost about 30-40 pounds could be considered as much a display item as niche retro figs, imo.

It is worth pointing out with the video of the unboxing and zombie saying that they cleared customs everyone cheered and sang his name etc Literally having a product paid for by a customer delivered to that customer is the very minimum which should be expected The time to celebrate is when everyone who ordered has received a figure and the thoughts are overwhelmingly positive. We’re still only at the basic expected stage It's alright for people to be excited for things. Zombie is a friend of the Major WF Pod and product reveals have been part of their show for awhile. We don't need to police everyone's positive emotions.

Like I said we are approaching the minimum requirement for a product.

Curious to see what people think when they're in hand.
For all his many faults I think Zombie came out strong with Dino Bravo, Sabu and Hebner.

It’s just my luck that these are shipping out when I’ll be out of town. Couldn’t have been a week sooner not a week later? 😆

I agree, at the moment it looks like Bravo and Sabu are solid figures, Hebner I'm not convinced about until have him in hand
Cardona looks nice, but not for me and Myers - I just can't see how those teeth passed QC

Series 1 preorders went LIVE 6/17/2021 at 08:00pm EST.
My preorder confirmation email was sent to me on 6/17/2021 at 8:01pm EST.
On an 4/21/2022 Instagram post, ZST stated Series 1 will ship out in the order they were received.
I’ll update as soon as I receive a shipping confirmation.

It's funny to me that some people on social media are blowing this guy just for doing the bare minimum and shipping out the orders people made over a year ago lol.
Regardless, it will be exciting to see people post pics and reviews here.

Regardless, it will be exciting to see people post pics and reviews here. That’s the point I said before Literally people paid a lot of money for a product which is coming much later than advised on numerous occasions and there’s whooping and hollering - not wanting to rain on peoples parade but getting a figure out is the bare minimum when people have paid snd waited What if the figures fall over snd are hard to stand (one of the criticisms of the Adam bomb from that hit piece) will it be glossed over and ignored because the figures arrived or will it be criticised? It’s like whooo Adele has recorded a new album and it’s shortly due to be shipped. It’s her farting into a microphone for 45 mins but that doesn’t matter because it’s being shipped out lol.

I'll still try and get hold of a Kevin Sullivan "adult sculpture" when series 2 goes up for pre-order, assuming he ships to us ungrateful limeys in the UK.
