Does he easily stand or does he topple over? Got my Bundy and Raven, still not sure how I feel about Raven, mostly a FOMO purchase since he had a decent WCW run, I still think he looks far too realistic to fit in with Hasbro style figures though, but will keep MOC for now, not enough WCW Retro style figs for me to make a display of them just yet. Opened Bundy, was really pleased. I was worried with these that they were looking too much like statues, hence my feelings on Raven, but I love the Bundy. Fits really well, he's about the size of Quake, and a bit taller than Andre. And I think he looks just cartooney/Hasbroish enough. Good job Zombie. I passed on the blue singlet Andre, since I already had this custom I was pretty pleased with and it was such a short run, didn't need 2 of that run, but I'll probably try and get the black singlet when it drops on black Friday.

I spent way too much time having fun doing some figure photography. Originally I was going to do them how I always shoot them but I was having a hell of a time with the lighting in my toy room/office. Because I did things differently this time, it will take me a while longer to go through things. For now, here is Andre! First, the standard pics followed a far more in depth review below: http://instagram.com/p/CyPs9CQsYlK The Good:This Andre is an impressive figure in terms of size, design, and execution. With all Heels and Faces figures, I worry that the detail will cause his figures to feel out of place with other Hasbros and Retros. I really didn’t feel that with this Andre. It has good detail up close but looks more natural from a distance. The packaging is the absolute best of any retro company out there in terms of sturdiness and print quality. I looked for flaws and couldn’t really find much. The only thing I found were some imperfections on the edges where the cardboard had been cut…and they were so minor and hard to notice that I didn’t even bother taking any pictures. The card is plenty thick and the adhesive for the bubble was damn near perfect. Almost too well stuck on there (I try to do as little damage as possible when opening). There was very little “factory dust” or paint marks or anything of the sort…it was pretty clean overall! The Bad:The artwork on the card is an eyesore. For such a nice figure, they really missed the mark on the packaging. Andre’s skin tone is pretty lifeless. He should have been closer to Bundy. Yes, Andre was pale but this was extreme. He and Bundy both feel too glossy at times. I was constantly tempted to alter the photographs to make the skin look better but I didn’t want to alter or misrepresent the figure too much. I wish his arms were a tad shorter and his hands a tad bigger. His pose looks awkward but not too unrealistic. Also, I feel as though the heads for black strap Andre and this one (navy) should have been swapped. Yes, I know that we will be able to do that in the near future but on its own, I wish ZST had reversed them. So How Do They Measure Up?:How Much Does This Guy Weigh!?!Final VerdictI’m completely biased: Andre is one of my favorite characters and I have a ridiculous collection of his things. I feel like they did a great job capturing his likeness (top 3). Ultimately this figure could have been a 10 but I deduced a half point for the ugly artwork, another half point for the squatting stance, and a full point for the corpse-like tone of his skin. Series 2 Andre gets an 8/10.

Raven looks cool. @Chair.Shot -- I'd be interested in what youthink about the arm length Like with nearly all ZST figures, I wish the arms were shorter. It is a good looking figure in so many ways. I’ll have the full review hopefully within a day. I know it’s only a little thing but side in the bend in the knees really throws Andre off. It’s an unnatural almost MOTU esq squat pose.

That’s a very nice looking KOTR ring. Zoomed in looks to be original and not custom?

Andre looks really good, although it is overly glossy, imo, and I still feel that him and Bundy are closer to Charapro than Hasbro. I'd actually really like to have Bundy, but I'll wait and see if he appears on eBay down the line with Sullivan.

That’s a very nice looking KOTR ring. Zoomed in looks to be original and not custom? Yup, all original. Gift from the parents back in 96. I was ADAMANT my dad knot the ropes so they’re “hidden” inside the near right turnbuckle. Tried my best to keep it in good condition after my playing years were over.

Does he easily stand or does he topple over? I had some issues standing him on the foamboard base I was photographing on, had to keep his arms down at his sides to distribute the weight back. I don't know if it's the figure or my board may have been uneven too.

Raven's just seem a tad more noticeable because they're outstretched fully whereas the static arms for most Hasbro originals had a bend to them.

Raven's just seem a tad more noticeable because they're outstretched fully whereas the static arms for most Hasbro originals had a bend to them. This is half correct. Some Hasbros had disproportionate length to their arms (often times exaggerated to perform the action feature and/or for balance). In Raven’s case, knuckle-to-knuckle he is the same width as the Texas Tornado. However, it isn’t 1 to 1 and here is why: Tornado’s chest was broader. So the actual length of the arm isn’t the same. It might be a slight difference but it is part of what stands out. The other thing that is worth noting is that Raven feels undersized. Scott Levy may not be as big as a lot of the wrestlers of his era but he wasn’t tiny either. Using Tornado again for reference, I noticed they were the same height (as figures). But there is some visual trickery that causes Raven to appear shorter: his Jean shorts. Basically, the crotch of both guys would be at the same level but because Raven has baggier gear, it makes his legs look shorter. The only thing I think I would have done differently would be to make Raven appear a little thicker…but you can’t pull that off with the jacket because then he just looks fat! And that my friends is why sometimes figures are better off with molded gear.

I would have purchased a few; the Haku, silver trunks Macho, Ultimate Warrior that looked like the Hasbro talking Warrior, MM Brutus Beefcake, and the King of Harts Owen Hart.

Below is my review of King Kong Bundy! The Instagram photos were edited to give it an old VHS feel. In my review, I’ll share some pics that weren’t on IG and/or don’t have those filters so that you guys can get a more realistic look: http://instagram.com/p/CyRhrHZxjEs The Good:King Kong Bundy is a figure I had hoped for for years and I’m so happy Zombie got the license before Mattel or Rush. I believe Grapplers and Gimmicks as well as Epic could very well have done Bundy justice. Though now I’m not sure there is much to improve upon. His look rarely changed after he started shaving his head. The likeness is very good, it is sturdy, and the packaging (like Andre) was immaculate. The only difference is that Bundy’s artwork isn’t ugly as sin! The Bad:The glaring issue with Bundy is just that…his glare! Bundy could have taken a bath in baby oil and it wouldn’t have been this shiny! This feels like a bit of a mashup: the laces look like the ones he wore during the New Gen era. He also doesn’t have the white around the top of his boots like he did during his 80’s run. Most notably, Bundy’s straps are thicker. In the 80’s, Bundy had thinner straps and more of a “U” cut to his singlet. However, the body type this figure depicts is NOT from the 90’s. Bundy had gained size and rounded out during that time. This figure’s body is much closer to his Mania 2 run. So How Do They Measure Up?:How Much Does This Guy Weigh!?!Final VerdictI’m very happy to have this wish granted! Although never a wrestler’s wrestler, King Kong Bundy was just an iconic personality from our childhood. There isn’t much meat on the bone for doing another figure but I wouldn’t hate to see it tried. If it doesn’t happen, I’m fine as this is nearly perfect. I deducted half a point for the inaccuracies with his outfit and body type and a full point for the shine. Series 2 Andre gets an 8.5/10.

What's up with the 'Hasbro shine'? Some folk are saying this is what's missing from retro releases, then Zombie makes figures with this shine and it is seen as a bad thing now?

I think he goes through phases of being active then inactive. I did an order a year ago now but he doesn’t seem to have been active lately. There are people on his Facebook 5 months ago saying they had orders with him that they never received which isn’t a good sign.
