Per Fightful: www.fightful.com/wrestling/wwe-raw-writer-kenice-mobley-released-wwe"Former Tonight Show writer and stand-up comedian, Kenice Mobley has been let go by WWE after a brief tenure as a writer for Monday Night Raw. Mobley had appeared on the Asian Not Asian podcast, prior to starting the job and openly stated that she knew next to nothing about WWE.
“So I am on the Monday Night RAW team,” she added. “So there’s Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown and the people I know that are on it are Bobby — his name is either Bobby Ashley or Bobby Lashley and I really should know that. He’s like this giant black guy and he and the people who are part of his crew, I know that they call — or at least as of last year, they called themselves The Hurt Business. The Hurt Business. They wear suits and they’re like, ‘We’re cool.’”
“So I've got to write the things in between the wrestling matches. So, like when they're walking to and from the ring, some of the commentary that happens... We come up with catchphrases, hand signals, or whatever. I really don't know about it. Truly, I have not started yet. So, I don't know enough about it and if they hear this, I'm really hoping they don't revoke my offer but I truly know next to nothing about it.”
Fighful’s Sean Ross Sapp was able to confirm Mobley being released by the company on Friday, June 25, 2021."

Ye gotta wonder how many others do they have on their books that are in the same boat but did not spout it out & remove all doubt like she did.

I mean, seeing the things that wrestling fans want to happen most the time, it’s probably good they don’t hire wrestling fans. Still, hire people who have worked within the business would be a step in the right direction.

Lol why did they even hire her in the first place she had no knowledge of the product Do you think they care? Genuinely? Judging by raw, no. Such a funny story. Not that she lost her job because that sucks, especially right now. Just the whole story of her knowing nothing, showing what little respect she has for the job by not even bothering to learn who the WWE Champion was, and then going on a podcast bragging about not being good at her job. Just hilarious to me lol

Shouldn't have got fired, it's their fault for hiring her in the first place. They're not looking for fans, and that's fine. But don't speak publicly making the product look stupid because you don't care to know the name of the main character you're writing for. Hopefully fans will leave her alone now. Not likely, but one can dream.

She is the main reason why I stopped caring to watch current WWE television of any sort.

People are trying to spin it that they only cared because people found out but it was absolutely how she handled herself on that podcast that she was let go.

One of those "I wasnt supposed to say that out loud" moments. To be fair, Jimmy Smith admitted he was hardly watching since Mr Perfect and Bruiser Brody was wrestling, but at least he recognized the current WWE World Champion. He called his fights in Bellator, LOL.

Honestly, they don't need to know about the product if they're talented writers.
But, they do need to be given time to learn how things work, who the characters are, and fully get up to speed...and we all know that's not going to happen.

I’m kind of on the fence about this one. If they don’t know who the champion is then maybe they’d treat the whole roster as neutral and write the same quality storyline’s for the main eventers as they would for the likes of Liv Morgan or Humberto.
