Dynamite 6/26/21: Sat Night Showdown

Just watched. A few notes:

Hangman vs Hobbs was really solid. Hobbs countering the Buckshot with the spine buster was rad. Page hitting the Dead Eye was impressive.

If Page is going to win the title at All Out, they need to heat him up WAY more than he is now. He's my guy, but he doesn't feel like the star he should be.

Great video to insist that Jungle Boy is a threat. The Connecticut fed used to be the king of the video package, but I think AEW's videos are top notch.

Funny promo from the Bucks. I love that the HBK-esque gear keeps getting more and more exaggerated.

I was a little worried with Konnan & Tully having a live mic, but I liked it for what it was. Good chit.

Vickie has go away heat. I know she's being used to get El Idolo heat, but this chit sucks.

Setting up Andrade & Sydal is sweet. That match is gonna rip.

Sydal/Martin was really good. Better than their Dark match. The top rope Meteora to a seated Martin was amazing.

I'm glad commentary continues during picture in picture. It'd be REAL awkward if they were just silent. I wish they'd relax a little and Excalibur could do some PWG goofiness, but I get why he doesn't during PiP.

Can't wait for Top Flight to return. Dante's killing in the meantime.

I hope Christian gets a Heel Faction one day. He'd be great in the player/coach role. I could see him being just as good as a talker & hype man as Taz.

One day Jade is gonna destroy Mark Sterling and it will be great. I'll enjoy their interactions in the meantime.

MJF called fans "poors". That's my gimmick, bucko.

I'm interested to see what the stipulation for MJF/Jericho at All Out will be.

I need Sammy vs Wardlow ASAP.

Good job of heating Sammy up on this episode. Dude feels like a big deal right now. That main event vs MJF will be a big deal. Jericho HAS to be proud.

Miro beating people up for Jesus might be my favorite gimmick in wrestling. No hyperbole. He needs to keep this going.

Ego vs Bear #2 was a Dark match. I would have liked it to be shorter, but those guys definitely killed time. lol The nut shot was the highlight of the match.

Excited for a non-Connecticut coffin match. It'll be cool to see what Darby & Ego bring to the table for that stipulation.

I'm really hoping for a twist so I don't have to see Vickie vs Britt in the ring...

Women's match was fine. Still not a fan of The Bunny.

QT is doing great during this heel run. Looking forward to that strap match.

Gonna stop there and save the main event for later today.

I know it's wishful thinking on my part, but I keep thinking about Andrade's "surprise". Vickie clearly isn't wrestling. I also got the feeling Andrade vs. Sydal is actually Andrade +1 vs. Sydal bros. I really want to let my mind wander into it being Daga & Tessa as the surprise, but I know I'm setting myself up for a letdown there. Thea would be rad too. Only other thing I can think of is that someone from RoH is going to show up to do a short program tagging with Andrade.
