Lately I’ve been kicking around an idea for a custom figure but it would require soft goods. Preferably it would be close to jorts or jeans that can be modified into shorts but I’m open to other pants Mattel might have made.

There’s Defining Moments HHH and Hillbilly Jim. That’s all I can remember for cloth denim.

DM Triple H had denim pants, as did Legends Hillbilly Jim, but both are fairly pricey in the aftermarket.
Best bet would be to look for 3rd party options, plenty of folks on Instagram can help you out.

Am I the only one that only likes soft goods shirts/jackets? There’s just something about soft goods on a plastic figure that feels very 1970s to me.

I'm sputtering dry on ideas for women's figures cloth goods.
Dresses. I NEED DRESSES.
It's so pathetic that I've actually begged my 70+ year old mother to break out the old singer and teach me to sew, just so I can start stitching some.
There's several women's customs that I want to make using Warsmans heads but without suitable attire, it's completely pointless.

Your best bet is probably 3rd party. You might want to get in touch with Thread Head Custom Clothing, I got an Asuka robe from them.

Thread Head is legit, I got a lion's share of custom shirts from him.
MandM Figure Clothing is also dope, they're who I thought of for denim pants/shorts.

I also have gotten great stuff from Thread Head, they are an amazing place to get some cool custom clothes.
