Is anyone else suprised at how we haven't had a Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart or Ric Flair in the LEGENDS line? Nor are they in rumoured future sets.
Current tally for TOP legends:
1. Macho Man – 5 (incl. Ringside Exclusive)
2. Ultimate Warrior – 3
3. Andre The Giant – 3 (incl. Matty Collector and rumoured chase)
4. Undertaker – 1
5. Stone Cold – 1
8. Shawn Michaels – 1 (incl. Matty Collector)
6. Hulk Hogan – 0
7. Bret Hart – 0
8. Ric Flair - 0

No I'm not surprised on Hogan or Flair. Mattel knows they can get you to pay 30 for a Hogan figure and Flair would need a bigger budget to include robes and stuff and would need to be. UE figure or exclusive..

Hogan and Flair weren’t under contract when the original line launched. Bret I believe was on the active roster and there was a dumb rule where they couldn’t be in the Legends line. So that would explain why they weren’t in 1-6 or any of the Matty exclusives.

I wonder if they’ll do Evolution the same as DX and include them in future sets over a couple waves. Be a way to do Flair without a robe to include in a non-premium line.

For me it doesn’t matter whether they’re in the legends line, elites, fb as long as we get them. That is what’s important to me. With that being said, I feel like a Mattel screwed us with that WCW Bret. The whole attire is thrown off by that terrible salmon color. Hope they give us another one, this time with the black singlet as a variant so we could knock two birds out with one stone.

Honestly, no. The logic is pretty sound. Look at where we usually get certain top guys -- usually in a premium line or at the start of a new sub line at a store. Easier to get a Wal-Mart or Target to order a new Flashback special set/higher-priced Defining Moments or Ultimates/etc. if a name like Austin or Hogan is in it. So those guys are almost always gonna be used that way as anchors.

It’s such an awesome attire too that like spans brets whole wcw career…several years. Such a botch. Really hope they fix it and release it again. The one obscure show attire flair ultimate is another that bothers me. If they wanted to do a pink robed flair, they couldve done a pink trunk, pink boot flair with blue pads which he actually wore a lot! Bizarre stuff |

Considering how long Legends was gone this stat is pretty meaningless. It doesn’t really matter what logo is on the box they are all elite figures. Hogan and Bret are probably going to be in the line soon
I only counted 4 of Savage: 5, Macho King, 11 pink, 11 yellow. Am I missing one?

Doesn't really surprise me. None of them were available for the first run of legends. Hogan and Bret will likely show up in the Legends series eventually (honestly it would surprise me if the only reason they're not in any of these upcoming lineups is because they're both getting essentially Legends figures in the Survivor Series line. As for Flair, I think that's a more interesting case. It seems like the only way to budget a robe for him is in one-offs as opposed to series, so a legends Falir would have to be one without a robe.

I find it's worse how some of these names have been missing or barely represented in the main line of elites and have numbers of figures rivaling lesser talent like El Torito and Hornswoggle.

Not really for bret - we have had a lot of brets over the last couple of years for a legend including the ringside kotr and ultimate which both had a lot of work in then plus the blue hart foundation was what, 2/3 years ago, the survivor series in the way, 2 pack with Goldberg etc

I’m surprised we haven’t gotten an Evolution Flair. Black trunks and a t-shirt and you’re good to go. Maybe a Raw tag title. It’s a literal repaint without an expensive robe.

The Evolution idea for the Legends line is a good one. Do the Summerslam basic Flair attire with a Raw tag title, HHH in his Wrestlemania XX attire with the World title, Batista in his flame trunks with a Raw tag title, and Orton in red trunks with the IC title (Backlash 2004) or orange trunks with the World title (Summerslam 2004)...and all have the black Evolution shirt.

It looks terrible! No wonder it was still in stock a year later. I don’t even need that Goldberg. Well, at least it has the U.S. title and I got it on sale. |
