While I’ve always felt Cena was crap in the ring, the guy is no-doubt a star and nobody on the current roster, including Roman, touches his level of star power. I’m sure SummerSlam will sell well with Cena’s return, but considering Roman basically squashed him at No Mercy 2017, it’s hard for me to buy into this as a “super fight” (Roman did kick out of three of his finishers, including a Super AA). Cena is the sloppiest wrestler I've ever seen. His matches can be really good but from a mechanical standpoint he f*cking sucks. The fact that he was the top guy of the 2000's over all of his much better and far more talented co-workers still drives me up the f*cking wall. I hate that I live in a world where Cena was #1 and Orton was #2. If it was only the other way around.

It was really nice to see the fans back in full force for this show. No doubt fans are the "third man" in each match and truly do make a difference when it comes to overall enjoyment of a show. I'm glad WWE is sticking to a streamlined 6-7 match card for their PPVs as well.
The Usos vs. The Mysterios - Not much of a reign for the Mysterio boys but I think this was expected. The Usos taking the belts compliments their story with Roman. Despite the predictability I thought this was still a really fun match. I'd like to see this feud continue since there's some solid chemistry between the two teams.
Women's MITB Ladder Match - There was an interesting mix of wrestlers in this one with some inventive spots. I can't say the match itself will be overly memorable aside from a few moments but given the number of these types of matches that have taken place over the past 16 years it makes it harder to stand out. I was genuinely surprised Nikki won. She seems unlikely to win either Women's Championship at the moment, but I'm intrigued as to where she'll go with the briefcase.
AJ Styles & Omos vs. The War Raiders - This was more competitive than I was expecting. I was glad to see The War Raiders get this spot and was somewhat surprised to hear they got a bit of a mixed reaction. I think their overall main roster booking goes a long way with that. AJ Styles remains super over, as well as Omos it seems. AJ (unsurprisingly) did a lot of the heavy lifting for his team, but I was glad to see more movement from Omos. He's looking more comfortable in the ring. I'd like to see RKBro ultimately dethrone AJ & Omos so AJ can head back to the main event scene.
Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley - This is the match I was hoping to see from these two since they started feuding again. The match was thoroughly entertaining from start to finish. Say what you will about Charlotte, but she's a workhorse in the ring, as is Rhea. I'm disappointed Rhea didn't get her win here but I have no doubt she'll have another run as Women's Champion down the line. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch revisited for SummerSlam is a marquee match so I get the booking mentality there.
Bobby Lashley vs. Kofi Kingston - This was a doozy for Kofi. I'm glad he got more offence in here compared to his match with Brock. But still...oof. It didn't do him any favours in terms of being seen as a credible contender. On the flip side it made Bobby look like an absolute beast. Considering he's the reigning champion I'd argue that's the most important thing coming out of this. Hoping the pending Lashley vs. Goldberg match doubles down on Lashley's dominance.
Men's MITB Ladder Match - Another fun MITB match to add to the catalogue of MITB matches. I had a ton of intrigue going into this one since there were a lot of potential candidates for taking the briefcase. I think the obvious choice was Drew taking it but I think his detour with Jinder was a clever way to get him out of the match while continuing their story. Ricochet finally looks like a star again (glad he ditched the black jeans look). I'd love to see Ricochet chase after the US title coming out of this. Shinsuke also looks revitalized with the king gimmick. Big E winning was a total feel good moment. I'm very interested to see who he cashes in on. I think cashing in on Lashley could be a fun way of getting Big E over to Raw while tying into Lashley's story with The New Day.
Edge vs. Roman Reigns - Really solid main event here. It had a definite big match feel and I'm glad Edge got a bit of a make good on losing out on his singles Wrestlemania main event this year due to Bryan's involvement. Maybe it was just late but I felt the match ran a bit long. Even so, it was an entertaining match between these two. I'm glad Roman retained and am really looking forward to Seth vs. Edge at SummerSlam. I think that had the potential to be a match of the night contender next month.
To be honest, I've never really been a big John Cena fan. He just hasn't really appealed to me as a character since maybe 2006. That said, I understand he still has a massive fanbase and is most definitely a draw with his star power. I'm curious to see how the storyline plays out heading into SummerSlam. I personally am hoping he isn't the one to dethrone Roman but time will tell. I'd rather see a new star made with taking the title off of Roman. I'm sure if nothing else the match will be entertaining.

The men's MITB match was great. One of the best I've seen.
The main event felt like I took two Benadryl and then watched Big Show vs Kane in an Iron Man match.

Big E is going to be a World Champion within the next year and you love to see it.
Marks need to stop suggesting a member of the New Day turn heel on the other two. Sh** is played out and not every faction needs to break up with a turn. Zero reason to ever break up New Day like that.

Except New Day has been stale for, oh 5 years or so and a heel turn would freshen things up and give people new matchups instead of the same stuff. But we apparently dont want that.

Apparently can’t turn anyone heel without having them turn on each other. People lining up to see Big E squash Kofi or Woods on a random PPV, huh? Really wanting a rehash of the Hurt Business break up that was done so well?

That's awesome. Good on her for thinking about a young fan.
