I'll just use the last Funk post to say it, the man was truly an icon. I think one of the best lines to describe The Funkster was from Paul Heyman's 'Welcome to the Dance,' speech he gave the ECW locker room before their PPV debut: 'thank Terry Funk for being unselfish in selfish times.' Always loved that line, because it rang true. He wasn't overly protective of his own character where it hurt others. He gladly put over others, cause he knew he'd gotten to a point, that losing wouldn't hurt him, he had cemented his place. |
