Just a guess, maybe Perfect was teaming with the Colossal Connection when they were champions? This was the final match of the IC title tournament to crown a new IC Champion (Mr. Perfect). On the night of the filming, they did not have the IC title in the building, so they just gave him the tag team title to hold up. If I remember correctly, the cameras never showed a close up of the belt so you couldn't really tell it wasn't the IC title at the time. |
