Great shot of an iconic match That's awesome. That spot in the match was done so well. Earlier in the match Bret went and got the bell but decided to get another weapon (a chair) and let the bell on the ring apron by the turnbuckle. Then the match progressed for 10+ minutes, you completely forgot about the bell, then Austin starts strangling Bret with the cable wires and Bret just picks up the bell that was left of the apron and hits Austin with it. That is a well thought out spot in the match and done to perfection. These two were so good together, I really wish we could have gotten more. I wish Bret never left the WWF, and he and Austin could have had another run with each other in 1998 over the belt. That would have been amazing. It could have been Bret's last hurrah in the company, then he and Owen could have formed a tag team and competed with a lot of the younger tag teams in the company at that time (the Outlaws, the Dudleys, the Hardy's, the APA, and Edge & Christian) to bring Bret's wrestling career to an end. |
