Going back to this thread and my old job, I found out a coworker of mine passed away. Kind of makes me look at life differently. I remember the last text I sent him.... My coworker busted his ass for that company and would often take on other responsibilities while those in charge would sit back in a office and chill. I would often tell him to relax and not overwork himself. I know with my current situation, I won't kill myself or let my health deteriorate any further for any employer. One day you're in, the next day you're replaced. I hope he's in a better place and I thank him for moments we shared. He was the hardest working guy I knew.

5 and a half years. Started April 2017. Even when I got past the one year mark it was the longest I'd ever been in a job and quite an achievement for me at the time. It just sucks that the store I worked in with all the friends I made over the years closed down and reopened as a rival store, it meant we all got moved around and thus the end of an era for me, one that I never thought would end. Some of my friends ended up in a store together round the corner and a couple of my colleages chose to join the rival company and stay in the same store. Moving stores feels like being drafted to another brand.

may I ask what occupation you two shared? Rest In Peace to your co-worker. Thank you brother. We worked a retail job. wow stress really is a killer. And corporations do take advantage. I worked at a skate shop in retail and it was definitely very hectic and put a sour taste in my mouth about the whole skateboard industry I had loved for over a decade. Actually when I got back into old wrestling and collecting figures. I’ve gotten back to skating for fun, kinda ghosted my sponsors but it’s more fun just being an outsider. Now I work a much more physically demanding construction type job with skateboarding friends but I dint go home hating work every day we get stuff done and it’s nice to see the end result of projects.

Was unemployed for awhile, tried my hand at being a bookie for a bit but it didn’t workout. My two broken thumbs make it hard for employers to provide reasonable accommodations.

Almost 2 years now. My job is very boring but on the other hand it does give me chance to use work time for my own needs. Yesterday I spent the whole day looking for the accounting service in Europe and finally found these guys. And yes, forgot to mention, I have my own business, which doesn't need much of my time, which is great.

Haha, I just clicked this thread and was reading your story and thought about Mike from Seinfeld. It was just on today. Then I saw your avatar. LOL.

I have been an employment counselor for high school students since May 2021, but have been with this company since Nov 2020. I jump around a lot for work. This job is currently the longest job I've held. I often get bored and switch jobs.
Getting too old to be doing that now lol.

About half a year. After several years of a logistics manager job, I decided to dive into project management. Of course, it requires more time and activity, and sometimes it is stressful, but I feel I finally sit in my place.
