People in here acting like they didn't play with LJN's or Hasbros or BCA which were worse to play with. Jakks R3s, RAs and TTL weren't the best for playing with either but we all made do. I'd add DAs as well since I found them clunky and odd. We don't have perfect figures. Some will be better than others. However, it's all directed towards kids and they aren't worried about the things older collectors are. I actually had a lot of fun playing with BCAs. TTL and RA were harder though.

I loved all of them. I'm just saying Basics are not worse than them.

Definitely not compatible with sit down power bombs.

Little Jimmies might find creative ways to play with Basics, but you might have a hard time creating poses and moves. The current TTL-like Basics are too limited. The original basics (and the Jakks Ruthless Aggression line) were very decent figures. You'd have to pose Sweet Chin music a little funny, couldn't do very many leg submissions, and no ab crunch. But they were good enough. These post 2017 basics are worse than TTL figures.

The new ones are awful. Anything pre series 79? Was great but once they made the arms funny and the legs super stiff they aren’t good for much.

The honest answer is that it depends on the basic. A guy like Lars Sullivan, Great Khali, or Mike Knox works just fine as a basic. Someone like Andrade or Drew McIntyre.. not so much.

i actually think the Hasbros were GREAT to play with; the hardest ever were BCAs -- because of them wouldn't stand on their own.

BCAs were the best because of the rubber. Perfect for live action playing ... not poses. But nothing beats 3.75" G.I. Joe for playability.

I remember the bone crunching action figures and they were great for having matches with at the time, at least with those you didn’t have to worry about them breaking like you do with some of the tight jointed basics now a days.
