There's so many potential roster moves here that my head is spinning. It sucks that all of these guys are coming available at the same time. I mean, hypothetically before the year is over AEW could (not should, but could) sign and debut: Punk, Bryan, Strowman, Cole, and Wyatt all of whom are at least main eventers, and in the case of Punk and Bryan, Legends). I miss pre-internet days, because if (hypothetically) Punk comes in this month, and Bryan comes in two, or even three months later it would be so much bigger than if they brought in Bryan within a month of Punk. Then (again, hypothetically because I expect him to re-sign) Cole comes out on either the last show of this year or first show of next year. He isn't as big of a star as Wyatt or arguably Strowman, but the AEW audience (myself included) would blow the roof off of the place. I'm just saying how awesome would it be if they could stagger these debuts and nobody knew about them. Memories.....

Protecting him how so? By not striking while the iron is hot and waiting until everyone has moved on? By having Bryan or Punk become the one who ends Omega's reign instead of Page? For the record, I don't believe that this report is true for the very reason of how WWE-like it is. Also, I'm not the booker of AEW, but I'm pretty sure Punk knows how to play heel even when he is popular.... the iron isn’t hot for him right now, that’s the point - the focus is elsewhere currently. and a guy being booked as a heel despite the crowd going insane for him... now that sounds like wwe booking. The crowd has been going nuts every time Page and Omega interact and the story has been built for over a year, with their big PPV coming up. If not now, when? Do you really think the crowd will be hotter for Page once Punk and Bryan are contenders for the title? Of course Punk will be a baby face going in, but I'm talking about months from now. Don't forget how fickle fans can be. As far as booking wrestlers as heels when they are popular with the crowd..... look at Jericho(pre-turn), Miro, Britt Baker, Malakai Black, etc. That argument doesn't work with today's wrestling, and especially not for AEW.

It's not a belief, it's logic. Bryan and Punk are the two biggest names that AEW could grab. They aren't going to be playing video games with Kip Sabian or having a win streak on AEW dark. They are going to be top contenders whether we like it or not, and in turn, they will be competition with Page's spot. What happens from there is up to the fans and up to AEW's booking of the situation. Jericho literally had fans singing his theme song while he was heel. Black had fans cheering for him to beat up an old man. It truly doesn't matter in AEW. If Punk could make a heel turns work in the peak's of his career, I have no doubt he could do it at the end of it.

Less than a month out from this and I'm pumped to be going. Especially if the rumors regarding Punk come true here shortly.

But Hogan/Rock is a great example of a popular guy playing the heel, still getting cheered by fans, and yet still putting talent over. Punk will have no issue doing the same if AEW is smart and has him put over people like Page.

Seeing some theories regarding it going around, so does anyone think it's possible Omega vs. Christian is a fake-out* and it's gonna be Omega vs. Jay White? *Or maybe just call an audible if the reaction to the match against Christian is anything to go by

I'm alright with White/Omega wherever and whenever I can get that match. Love the switchblade.

I honestly hope Christian keeps getting boo’d that way he can go heel and talk about how the fans screwed him over. Chit like “no matter what I do, no matter how good I was, you boo me”. I’m deep into fantasy booking now, but he’s a much better heel.

I don't see how he became "#1 Contender" to begin with, but I have zero interest in Omega/Christian at All Out. Hopefully he is "injured" at their rampage bout and a replacement is used.

I have never gotten the appeal of Christian and like the poster above, have no idea how he was decided on to be #1 contender.

The Christian hate is real! For some of us it's the only thing piquing interest so just be patient (like I had to over the past 10 years) and the time for your dream match ups will come. But in the meantime is it really that miserable that a former world champion gets a world championship opportunity because he's undefeated?

It’ll be interesting to see how many chants we get for Page during Omega/Christian. Even with Punk debuting, Page vs Omega main eventing would have still had the crowd hot and sent them home happy. Christian for sure is going to turn heel it feels like. Which if the long run is for him to put over Jungle Boy, I love it.

Listen, I like Christian. In a trios team with Jungle Express, he's great. But what happened here? I was in Miami when we got a Hangman vs Omega confrontation that almost blew the roof off the building. Christian doesn't bring that storyline, that energy. I definitely think they are going to put the Impact Title on him tonight and let him beat Omega to quickly give this match some significance. Christian isn't beating Omega for the AEW Title, though.
Maybe that's by design. If Punk confronts Omega to send All Out off the air then Hangman can't be the guy. Hangman shouldn't be in that spot until they're going to give him the title. Christian is perfect to be that guy. He loses nothing by losing to Omega and then being totally overshadowed by Punk's return. So if that's what happens, it all makes sense. If Omega just beats Christian, and we don't get Bryan, or Punk or anyone else, which seems incredibly unlikely, then Christian is a super confusing pick to face Omega.

I really don't think we're getting Christian/Omega at All Out. Would just be super weird to run that match back to back, regardless of the outcome tonight. We're not getting Hangman/Kenny either, like I suspected earlier, Hangman will be taking some time away for the birth of his kid. He'll still be the one to take the title, but not for a bit yet.
Thinking it's probably going to be OC/Kenny in a 1-1 match this time, but could be way off. Based on the rankings Darby seems like the other option.
