So I thought this may be fun. Everyone can pick their top 10 heel turns in all of pro wrestling. From WWF, to WCW, to NWA, to ECW, to USWA, to WWE, to everything and anything between! Just pick your top 10 heel turns and maybe give a little reason as to why.
1. Hulk Hogan turns on the fans and WCW at Bash at the Beach 96
- Easily this is my favourite heel turn ever, just because it was something we never thought we would ever see. Hogan was heel in the 70s and early 80s, but all us Hulkamania fans couldn't imagine we would see that.
2. Shawn Michaels turns on Marty Jannetty and throws him through the Barber Shop window on Wrestling Challenge Jan. 1992
- The making of "The Heartbreak Kid" happened that very moment when Shawn super kicked Marty out of his life as a partner in an iconic moment that saw blood on WWF TV
3. Barry Windham turns on Lex Luger to join the Horsemen on WCW Saturday Night April 1988
- Barry Windham chose to give up his one half of the NWA Tag Titles and his friendship with Lex Luger to join the Four Horsemen and put his name into history with the greatest group of men to ever form a stable in professional wrestling.
4. Paul Orndorff piledrives Hulk Hogan on WWF TV 1986
- All you had to do Hulk was answer the phone! In an unexpected heel turn (mainly because Paul had just turned baby face a year earlier) we got to see Paul Orndorff deliver a devastating piledriver to Hulk Hogan and have the year of his life in a WWF Title feud with the Hulkster.
5. Randy Savage attacking Hulk Hogan on The Main Event February 1989
- The Macho Man had enough of Hulk having lust in his eyes for Elizabeth and pretty much put the nail in the coffin for his WWF Title reign. Even then when I was the age of 8 years old, I knew that nobody beats Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania, and Randy lost the WWF Title to Hogan at Wrestlemania V.
6. Ricky Morton giving the boots to Robert Gibson and joining the York Foundation in June 1991
- Ricky and Robert were the tag team of the 80s. Multiple time tag champions in every promotion they wrestled in, but it was now 1991 and times were different. Robert Gibson had been injured for months and Ricky Morton and Tommy Rich had become a team. Robert came back and joined forces with Ricky but another group was interested in Ricky's services. The York Foundation. Terrance Taylor helped Ricky Morton become one Richard Morton and beat up Robert Gibson.
7. Seth Rollins on Raw 2014 attacking the Shield with a chair
- Not many heel turns in the last 20 years have made such an impact as Seth Rollins did with his chair shot heard around the world on Roman Reigns. It helped make Seth become a WWE Champion and made his career one better than just being a guy in the Shield.
8. Christian giving Edge chair shots on Raw in a jealous rage in 2001
- The 2001 year was a strange one for WWF. They bought out WCW and ECW, and all WWF stars were to be seen as baby faces where we were to boo ECW and WCW talent. Thus making Edge and Christian baby face wrestlers. Edge was more accepted by the fans than Christian was, and after a KOTR victory and an IC Title win, Christian had enough. So what better way to get booed than to attack your own brother in your home town?? Christian was booed accordingly and the split of Edge and Christian was now fully complete.
9. Triple H giving X-Pac the pedigree at Wrestlemania XV turning his back on DX and the fans
- As a huge DX fan, I couldn't believe it. I loved Triple H and DX at that time period. For I may love the New Generation Era, but the Attitude Era has a special spot in my heart as well. To see Triple H not only turn his back on the fans but on DX too, it was just heartbreaking to see. Though that heel turn did benefit his career, I would have much rather cheered on a baby face DX Triple H to a WWF Title win.
10. Chris Jericho throwing Shawn Michaels into the Jeritron 5000 on Raw in 2008
- Chris Jericho has been heel before, but this heel turn was an entirely different heel turn. It was cold, dark and callous. Nothing about Jericho was fun anymore. No funny catch phrases, or jokes, or anything like that. His heel turn in 2008 was disturbing. He had no remorse for Shawn Michaels or anyone for that matter. It was all very calculating and cruel. And it made people talk about Chris Jericho again. A great heel turn with gave us a great feud for the next six months or so with Shawn Michaels.
Well that's it. Those are my top 10, but I have one more I will add, which to me was shocking because I didn't wanna believe it but here it is...
11. "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel nailing Shawn Michaels with a chair at MSG in 1996
- Diesel was a tweener since Survivor Series 95, but he said he would always have Shawn's back. Well, that night he did have Shawn's back... with a steel chair! The heel turn didn't do much for Diesel, a loss to Undertaker at Wrestlemania XII and a loss to Shawn Michaels at In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies, but I could only imagine what would have happened if he hadn't gone to WCW then. I am sure another WWF Title reign would have happened down the road for Big D with the new heel persona.

Hogan at BATB 96- Best turn of all time and this is coming from a non Hulkamaniac. Changed wrestling forever
Savage on Hogan on the Main Event- So well done here. Jesse on commentary is the cherry on top.
Bret at WM XIII- He was baby for so long and to see em flip the switch here was great.
Barry on Luger in 88- Another shocker here. Loved it
Rockers implode on Barber shop- Like I said in the thread dedicated to it you can see the star in HBK right away and Bobby on commentary was gold.
Freebirds costing KVE the belt in 82- The fans rioted! Great stuff here
Andre turning on Hogan on the Pit- ''You dont believe it? Well believe this Hogan!'' Andre tears his shirt. FANTASTIC
Martel at WM V- Underrated turn in my book considering how they just paired Strike Force back up and then he turns outta nowhere. Start of a memorable heel run
Owen at Rumble 94- I kicked your leg outta your leg! Another great one here. Dibiase defending his actions just adds to it
Larry Z turning on Bruno- Larry was vicious here! Him walking away with you then seeing a bloody Bruno on the mat man what a sight. Great story told

Andre, Owen, and Martel all good ones!
Larry's heel turn is only familiar with me on the Best of the WWF Vol. 1 when they showed highlights of it leading up to the Showdown at Shea Stadium cage match

Thought I’d chime in and in no particular order:
1 Powers of Pain on Demolition - I get it was confusing but to me this set Demo up as the dominant force in the WWF.
2 Martel on Chico - Loved Martel overplaying the damage from the Flying Forearm. Nice and simple turn and delivered.
3 Barber shop. One of the first angles I ever saw and main reason (along with the Rumble 92) why I got hooked on wrestling.
4 Bret Hart on Stone Cold - excellent double turn.
5 Andre on Hogan - even watching it retrospectively, still powerful
6 Owen on Bret - Owen played the whining hard done by heel so well
7 Bob Backlund on Bret - one of the best heel characters of 94.snapping after his loss to Bret was sensational
8 Hogan joins the NWO - was never really a fan of WCW but this was a phenomenal turn. Really reinvigorated Hogan
9 Tugboat turning in to Typhoon - always love a new character and are a sucker for a tag team.
10 Sid on Hogan - Loved Sid’s psycho run after this with jobbers being stretchered out then attacked, Virgil’s nose break etc.
Doubt many, if any, of mine would make an all time list but some personal favourites

Matt Hardy turning on Jeff helping Edge win the WWE Championship and Hulkster at Bash at the Beach are my top 2.
Way too many others for me to make out a top 10.

1) Hulk Hogan forms the NWO
2) Shawn Michaels throws Marty Jannetty through the Barbershop Window
3) The Mega Powers explode
4) Scott Steiner turns on Rick Steiner and joins the NWO
5) Marcus Bagwell turns on Scotty Riggs and joins the NWO
6) John Cena turns on Billy Kidman, becomes a rapper. Went unnoticed at the time, but would have an impact later on.
7) Rick Martel turns on Tito Santana
8) Randy Savage turns on Rowdy Roddy Piper and joins the NWO
9) Powers of Pain turn on Demolition, Survivor Series 1988
10) Andre the Giant turns on Hulk Hogan
Some wrestlers like Booker T and Edge had heel turns that made them into main eventers, but the exact moment they turned heel were largely forgettable.

Linda McMahon on JR is one I never seen coming. Not a favorite but it was shocking and made me angry. Undertaker in 2002 made me very furious also.
