Who said it was a conspiracy lol. I don’t disagree with any of those points. Again, I’m just saying I would bet there are naysayers on here that would change their mind if the clock was running out and it was going to fund. The fact that you and that other guy are getting so uppity about it makes me think you’re probably in that camp. And if you’re not, then why are you so offended? I love you. You said “ I will say that I bet a good number of the naysayers on here want this project to fail” So you are giving your opinion on others intentions and insinuating what you believe to be their motive. There are perfectly valid reasons for wanting this, likewise there are perfectly valid reasons for not wanting it. It’s not for anyone to cast doubt on anyone’s decision to buy or not to buy. I am not backing it, but I want it to go ahead 1. For the people who do want it and 2. Because if this is successful there may be something down the line I do want. I just think you saying people don’t want to it backed is a little unfair. In fairness I think every thread about this project has had some level of people extrapolating their own reasoning (for or against) over a large number of people. That being said, I stand by what I said, which again is not mutually exclusive of any of the groups you mentioned. And from what I saw you post earlier, I was NOT including you as part of the group who would change their mind, even in spite of your name. I love you. |

New gen is 100% my era - look at the original reveal, I was super pumped for it. Then I literally looked around and thought as cool as this is where am I going to put it? Do I want to spend £250 for it to sit in a box in storage? Then as time has gone on I’ve convinced myself more why it’s not for me - the reasons not to outweigh the reasons to. However space is the main factor which I’ve mentioned a couple of times - this is a huge footprint square. The other ‘large’ crowdfunding items like the galactus is tall but not deep so could fit on a shelf. The barge was long but not all that wide. This being square (and especially if you want to have the entrance with it) takes up a lot of space and space is valuable. I could buy a unit to display this, but I’d rather put that space to better use for me personally like my kids are coming to an age where they would benefit from a desk to do homework - I’d rather use the space for that than display a ring |

Bill has said that the Ultimate Diesel will have special packaging to look different than all the other UE figures. With special packaging and limited to only around 5k made if Shawn Michaels and the Rock’s go for $200 then this one will go for that or more. Basically the Diesel figure if you resale it will pay for your ring and entrance stage. How are people not jumping on this ? The Doink if we get there will also have special packaging. So I take it you’ve bought 5 since you’re so sure of the resale value and profit to be made? I’ve backed 3 |

One thing to keep in mind.. $250 is a lot of money-not everyone can easily say “sure, sign me up,” even if they want to support. Especially for (primarily) a ring. We’ve probably all got a ring of some sort, and I think that’s the least appealing draw here. We all want that entrance stage, sure, but I can totally understand why this is a hard sell at the moment. I’ll also add, there were a ton of pre-sales and comic-con exclusives that could be pulling people’s money away. I hope it happens. The stage and Doink are especially cool.

I've said twice (either here or in one of the other umpteen threads) that I don't wanna "set the precedent" (a legal term from the Big Boss Man) that Mattel can make bundles and collectors will buy them. I've not really thought directly that "I want this to fail!" but I also don't want Mattel to think they can do this again in the future: offer a secondary large piece plus accessories for that large piece plus one to two figures just to move the primary item at a higher price. Therefore, I guess it needs to fail, from my perspective anyway. Therefore, Brother Love is right! 😆 |

Oh I think that’s a pretty safe assumption. The question is would there be 4000 people who are like that. I’m not so sure. I will say that I bet a good number of the naysayers on here want this project to fail because if it did have a chance to succeed, they would probably go in on it because they wouldn’t want to miss out. So as of right now they’re just going to shoot it down because it would make them feel better that it’s not going to get made. I love you. I bet a good number: 1. Don’t have the space for something with that footprint or would rather use the space they have for something else 2. Don’t think it’s value for money 3. Are genuinely not interested in it Not everything is a conspiracy or needs to be viewed through cynical glasses - what appeals to some doesn’t to others. At this point facts point to it not appealing to anything but a very small % of adult collectors No this is wrong. While all three of your reasons above are the primary reasons I am not interested in the project, I am also actively participating in the conspiracy of cynically celebrating this project's failure. I'm starting to see more and more YouTubers make videos about how we as collectors NEED to back this even if we don't care about it because there might be something we will want to back in a future crowd funding attempt, and it's starting to get on my nerves.
Yeah, no thanks. I'm not going to spend money on something just so that I can have the privilege of spending money on something I actually want later on. What happens if I back this, and the next project is still something I don't want? Do I have to back that too in hopes of the third time being the charm?

Just FYI, this is just my opinion, it's OK if you don't agree.
I'd say in the next week or two, Mattel needs to try one last ditch effort to really push for this. And by doing so, they need to sweeten this release with something really big and enticing that will really nail the collector fanbase and make them want to buy this.
The problem is right now people are still on the fence on this. I feel they need one really big additional reveal here, like a hail mary pass to try and push this over the edge.
Could be wrong on that, but we'll see how this campaign finishes out.

I understand the world wildlife fund owning the WWF trademark and having the website domain but surely having the letters WWF on a toy isn't a sueable issue. I always thought the WWE was overly cautious blurring the F. Oh and I'm so evil, I want the project to succeed so we can see if there really is any resale value. BWAHAHAHA. |

I am a huge New Generation era fan and think the ring is cool as is Diesel, but I think a 2 Dudes Shawn and Diesel would have been way cooler than Diesel and Doink.
Also, if you want to buy it that is awesome and like I said I think it looks cool. However, the whole buying it just in case something better comes along later is kind of crazy to me. No one should feel pressured to buy something that they do not want just in case something better might come along later. This could be a rousing success and Mattel could still decide not to do another one.
