Kinda sad that the head of marketing for this line has been radio silent since the payments fiasco. If it’s a legal thing, even just chiming in and saying “We are aware and will comment shorty” would go a long way.
At this point, if this fails, it is just as much if not moreso the PR than the product itself.
Where is the additional campaigning that was promised last week? Again, my sh*tty video with a static image and me droning on for 20 minutes too long was more promotion this last week than what they have done. It’s like they don’t even believe in their own product at this point.
I love you.

I think their best bet right now would be to just include everything at 5K backers and take the hit on their profit margin and next time do a better job. No their best bet is to scrap it. And never do a crowdfunding again. Their best bet is to scrap the crowdfunding aspect Move the entire campaign(including Doink and Ring skirts) to a 30 day open pre order. Whoever orders in that 30 days secures their set. And to apologise for the lies and the greed offer a 5% discount to anyone who already backed.

No their best bet is to scrap it. And never do a crowdfunding again. I disagree with the latter. A Raw Is War ring and real scale Cell with an Attitude era Suited Vince would have sold methinks. Ditto with an SD Fist Stage and ring. Anyways, I don’t think they should give up altogether. But holy sh*t do they need to rework their strategy and offering next time. I love you. This New Generation offering or a WCW entrance stage (Would have definitely backed a WCW one) was their best chance to get me to do it. Anything else I would easily pass on. But with this set the only thing that was appealing to me was the entrance (and maybe Diesel). The ring while imaginative could have just been an ESR, because once I put it together I wouldn’t take it apart. But I wouldn’t put it together because I had to take apart my Jakks WM RSR and Mattel ESR last year for lack of room. So another Ring was never going to happen for me. And the there’s Doink not a figure you’ll ever see in my collection. Just not a fan. But if this was a WCW stage/ring/2 wrestlers set room or not I would have backed it. But that said I always thought a crowdfunding wouldn’t work whenever it was brought up in a thread or Q&A.

You have stated that you don’t want another ring, but at the same time you were able to come up with a scenario that you would’ve been willing to back it. That is proof that the crowdsourcing is not the problem. It was the choice of parts, and of course, the absolute disaster of PR that followed. Not a reason to kill crowdsourcing… although admittedly, the damage to their credibility will be a tall task to overcome. I love you.

I agree in that it would be a shame to cut-off potential future crowd-funded items if/when this fails. I just don't think the asking price is hitting with most people.
That ring has so much detail to it, but if most of it is going to be covered up anyway by the mat and aprons, that seems like a waste of development costs (again, it's VERY cool, I just don't think most people care). In that case, why not simplify the ring, ditch the bland Diesel figure and just do a better attire in the main Ultimate line, and keep the neon entranceway as-is and sell it for $150-175? This thing is certainly not going to hit the stretch goals even if it somehow makes the basic funding requirements, so the $250 is a little too tough to swallow for most people.
I wish they'd revise it instead of scrapping it outright, which is likely going to happen.

The problem is no one is seeing this. Outside of an older internet few who really knows about the Mattel creations site? Not many. The internet crowd makes up such a small percentage of collectors and it’s now showing. I talked to a few casual collectors I knew that had no clue about any of this. With no comic con in person you didn’t even get the foot traffic of the con. It should have been advertised at a WM or a summerslam axxess and people may have been more willing

I am beyond annoyed with this take. I get Bill said that crowdfunding is dead if this fails. I guess by his standards, we responded with "we don't want it."
I should not have to fork over $250 in hopes that I really love the next one. Too bad. THEY missed the boat. I don't know how it couldn't be anymore obvious.
I understand all of the people who love this set and are frustrated it isn't going to be made. I would say all of us are angry that crowdfunded projects are basically done for WWE products. But that doesn't mean "we" need to "make it successful."

Without these forums I'd have likely missed sarge, the ring, Legends 12 pre order and I'd have given up long ago on Legends 10 and 11. I wonder how they could get more eyes on this. Outside of doing a commercial or a plug or 3 on wwe shows, I can't think of anything. Someone posted an idea they should have limited this to 8000 orders and offered the whole package up front. I bet it would be well above 5000 at this point if they did that.

I would’ve gone out of the box for it and something crazy with a wow factor not just a ring
Something cool but equally bizarre and so daft people want it
Like they are restarting the retros on mattel creations which are a homage to the hasbro figures, so to go along with that the crowd funding could’ve been for 2 talking wrestlers like the hasbro hogan and warrior. They were in the same style as the regular hasbro figures but much bigger, they coulda done rock and Austin with a handful of their key phrases, proper old school style voice box with the pull cord etc. That would’ve been cool snd wacky enough to get interest imo

Like I said, wtf is the extra campaigning “surprises” Steve mentioned? Why not make a push for WWE to plug it on Raw or at the show itself to fans? Fliers? Emails? Something! But no… one YouTube video and radio silence after a payment-related fiasco. I love you.

But that doesn't mean "we" need to "make it successful." I’ll address this one last time… I should have communicated better. I was mainly targeting people who are on the fence. I did make a pitch to those who didn’t want to it to do it for reselling purposes… but yes, you are correct no one who doesn’t want this at all should buy it for any reason if they don’t want to. Not disputing that at all. Honestly I may take the video down because I seem to believe in this product more than Mattel itself does given their radio silence atm. I love you.

Suddenly people are trying to say back it up...... The good old saying that if you don't like don't buy lol. So now people who like buy them and don't blame fellow collectors.

I hate to say it, but I'm beginning to sour on this whole thing. Now I really couldn't care whether it gets funded or not.

We collectors will get blamed for not backing this, but the real culprits are their PR/Marketing team. 7 lousy pictures, no promos, terrible offerings, high price point - forget if you like/don't like New Gen - everything seems to be terribly planned out. $100 ring + $30 figure + an entrance that's probably $40 tops?!
maybe crowdfunding isn't for WWE products, but don't despair guys - guarantee you ultimate Diesel and Doink are a future Ultimate wave, and this ring will be released as an exclusive because they've tooled everything.
Back or don't back, we'll get these products eventually.

Both would have been a good free advertisement.

Who draws the biggest numbers these days in WWE? Just have that person in a segment backstage "practicing" moves they are going to do to make there opponent look like a Clown like Doink. Boom! If that person plays with it, it must be cool! Drop your $250.
